There is something on Walmart.com that I may wish to purchase and have sent to a store local to Disney. Delivery is said to be five to eight business days and I am wondering what is considered to be a business day in the US?

Walmart shipping is super fast. I have never had anything take 5 to 8 business days. More like 2 days. One time I actually ordered it one day and had it by the next afternoon. And most shipping companies and the USPS run on Saturday so you can usually count Saturday as one of the business days since it is in transit on that day.

Not going to dispute how quickly Walmart ships things. But I did want to disagree with the comment above (as I don't want our friends in other countries to be confused). While items "may" be in transit on Saturdays, that is NOT considered by most shipping companies (in the US) to be a business day.
My company ships and receives daily (primarily UPS, however we also use USPS, Fedex, and LTL common freight carriers). Business days in the US means Monday-Friday (not counting any day that is an "observed" holiday "by the freight carrier"). For example, a PP mentioned Columbus Day. That day, while a recognized holiday, is not "observed" by UPS or Fedex. It is observed by USPS.
You can find the observed holiday charts for UPS, FEDEX and USPS on their respective US websites to determine if they are running (and which operations, such as ground, expedited, etc) on a particular day here in the US.
