What Do Two Year Old Girls Play With...?

Books are always a good idea, but chalk and bubbles are fine for 2 year olds. They do require some degree of supervision, but they are non-toxic and that age group really enjoys them. Bubbles and chalk won't hurt them!

If you go with bubbles, I recommend the ones from Gymboree. Best. bubbles. ever. :thumbsup2

My daughter turned 2 Sat. Got a ton of clothes, which she promptly threw down. Got to a baby doll and refused to open another gift. Played with it for an hour before she would look at anything else:)

She also loves bubbles.

i have to agree with the play food. a former HS classmate of mine has a 3 year old daughter, and he posted a video of her a year or so ago on FB, running around her playroom playing with her play food-specifically, the corn. that corn was all over the playroom that day, lol. it was sooooo cute, and she was having a ball.

Because a 2 year old is too young for messy stuff like that. A tea set, doll, or book are much more age appropriate.

Not at my house. I didn't mind when kids got messy when they were playing, that's what play clothes were for. Now that they are 10, 13 and 16, I would give anything for an afternoon spent drawing chalk pictures and chasing bubbles.

My dd2 also loves that exact same FP tea set!!!! LOVES it!!!! Anything imaginary play is very popular with 2's....she also loves Buzz, Woody and other TS characters...she LOVES LOVES bubbles (get a 2 yo a bubble gun...they LOVE it!!)

:rolleyes1 Only a parent who is a) totally clue less or b) truly dislikes you would get play doh for a child under 5 at the earliest!!!

The preschool teacher in me cringes at this statement. There is no such thing as too young for messy. Yes, they need to be supervised, but 2 year old children really benefit from messy sensory experiences. They NEED them. They are important for development.

commercial play-doh is garbage. Homemade playdough is great, suitable for young kids (my 2's use it at preschool), is non-toxic, and cleans up well. You wouldn't give homemade playdough as a gift though...

Go to your local Home Depot and ask for an empty box from a previously purchased appliance. Cut a window out of it and you will be the hit of the party

:thumbsup2

Bubble machines are great too, I love watching my kids of all ages chase them all around the yard laughing and having a great time! The tea set play food, baby doll and accessories are great too, or dress-up stuff-lots of fun imagination stuff sooooooo many options
