What Do Servers Get Tipped Off of DDP?

Are there any castmembers or "people in the know" who can tell me what the TS servers make off of the DDP? Is it a percentage based on the total food bill or a flat rate per diner? If it is a percentage what is the rate? I know Disney tries to keep this stuff out of the public but I would be curious to know how and what type of money the servers make off of the Dining Plan. Thanks for any replies!

They are tipped 18% of the entire food bill before taxes and not including any extras you pay out of pocket (like alcohol).

Apparently the nonWDW restaurants only get 18% of $36 as $36 is all that WDW reimburses them for DDP. (like WPC)

Hmmm ... that's interesting. No wonder some restaurants don't participate.

I hadn't heard that of the non-Disney restaurants. I was told by a server at a Disney restaurant that they get tipped 18% (he works at a character buffet and made like 80k last year).

I would be there is still a lot of double-tipping at the non-Disney restaurants too, that does happen at the Disney restaurants. The DDP has been really good for a lot of the servers.

I don't think they even get 18% of the $36.00. I ate at WGP May 10th. I ordered the mango tea ($1.95), Artichoke dip ($10.95), Wolf's Steak ($30.00), and key lime pie ($6.95). When my ticket came, the price I signed for was $36.00. I asked the waiter and he said that $36.00 was all Disney reimbursed them (and that included the tip). I told him that didn't seem fair, as alot of people didn't know that, so the waiter would get short changed on their tip. He insisted it didn't matter and it all worked out. I don't know how much of the $36.00 I signed for he got as a tip and of course he didn't say, but did say the $36.00 included his tip. I told him no way, and tipped him extra, of course. He said he appreciated it, but also said several times it wasn't necessary. When I got home I refigured my bill and with an 18% tip it would have been $61.49.
