What do people wear at your work?

When i waitressed I wore shorts and a tank top. Very comfortable.

I work PT at Bath and Body and we have to wear white or black tops, black or khaki pants/skirt =)

the high school part timers are allowed to wear whatever they want
The rest of us (whether part time or full time) cannot wear shorts or sneakers or jeans
This summer Im wearing skorts (actually they look like a skirt but have shorts underneath)

Business casual all week, unless a client is coming in, then it's "business". Code includes no sleeveless tops, no jeans, no athletic shoes and no-opened toed shoes of any kind. I can live with all of those except the shoes....have you tried finding women's shoes, especially in the summer, that aren't opened toed???

We used to be more relaxed with the jeans, tops, etc, but several individuals pushed the limits, so we lost those.

My clients are people I am interviewing, so I usually dress accordingly on interview days. I always wear a suit, either black or navy, and my clients usually wear the same thing (there WAS this one girl who wore hot pink, but that is a whole other thread...) On non-interview days I wear skirts or dress slacks, on Fridays khakis. For the most part my coworkers all dress the same way, but of course there are always those people who are the exception. The one in this office is the 50+ year old office clerk who wears micro minis and other clothing designed more or less for women 30 years her junior. In my old work location it was the tech guy who wore shirts with big gaping holes and flip flops. Not appropriate in my book, I do think one should dress according to standards -- I've been ripped for it in the past on the DIS before, but my opinion still stands.

Most people at work dress casually. Jeans and T-shirts are normal. A few people will get dressed better, especially the women. Then it's nicer pants, skirts, tops and dresses. The Doctors, of course, will dress the best if they are seeing patients during the day.

In the summer we have several students and they tend to be very casual, sometimes too much IMO. I've seen tiny tank tops, shorts, sandals (not allowed), etc. A lab is not the beach. Nobody says anything to them though.

We are very casual in our department (a call center) but we work in our corporate office, so there are a lot of people in suits that you run into in the halls, cafeteria, etc....We can wear jeans, I do wear them ocasionally, but usually with nice boots or sandals. SOme people of course push the limit and look like they're either on their way to a club, or to the beach. We have a group of temps they bring in every summer and it never fails that they have to send out reminders about what is NOT appropriate to wear to work. I'm usually in nice pants, capri's/summer or a long skirt/boots in the winter. I just dont' feel comforable looking like I just cleaned the basement and then walking past a big wig in a $2000 suit. We have one diva that's about 50, who wears a skirt about 8 inches ABOVE the knee every day with spike heels, I've never seen a person with so many clothes, and shoes. She also wears different nylons all the time, fish net, lime green, you name it, she has it along with matching shoes. She's the first one to complain about somebody elses inappropriate dress too...I'm not sure what's worse, jeans and a sweatshirt, or a 6 in long leopard print skirt with 6 inch high heals also in leopard print???

As a school bus driver, we can't wear shorts that come above
our knees, any saying that is obscene, shirts with tank shoulders
although sleeveless is ok. We have to wear shoes that have
a back and heels less that 1". Ask me if everyone follows these

We had a merger between 2 groups about a year and a half ago. Our group never really had a dress code, but most of us dressed neatly--close to business casual with jeans in the colder months. I was usually the one that stuck closely to business casual, although I was known to wear holdiay themed clothing (my 4th of July Mickey t-shirt was very popular). The other group we merged with had a business casual code. And since we moved up to the floor and the person who set the code was on that floor, we all HAD to go along with that. We all stuck to it--I didn't wear jeans to work for that whole first year. But of course, the ones who had been in the dress code group wore jeans all the time! I was so annoyed....then recently, we got a memo saying jeans were OK, I guess because they just figured most people did dress neatly.

Well, our office is pretty casual. I usually wear shorts and a Tshirt and occasionally wear a bra with them. Sometimes just my jammies for the 1st 1/2 of the day and on occasion, as long as the blinds are closed, I come to work nekkid. Of course, I'm the sole employee and the office is only 15 feet from my bedroom. When a client comes over I do put something presentable on. Seriously, when actually meeting with a client I tend to wear dressy casual. Jeans and button down shirts with slip on shoes, khaki shorts and button down shirts with sandals. I like my clients to feel comfortable with me. If they can feel they can be themselves around me it helps me to develop a wrapper that is uniquely them.

Black or white shirt with a collar and black or tan khaki type pants. Luckily, they can be cargo pants because I have a hard time finding a pair of regular khakis that fit how I like. I'm comfortable, but I really liked where I used to work because I could wear almost anything. I like the freedom of dressing up or going totally casual.

If I am interpreting it depends on where I'll be doing the interpreting. Like court (not actually doing that yet) I would need to wear a business type suit, educational interpreting whatever uniform the school requires or business casual type clothes, at a formal concert dressy clothes, church dressy pants or a skirt and a solid a dressy top that is not frilly.
When I substiute teach I normally wear slacks and a polo.
