What do people do that irks you related to WDW

I think it's kind of funny how there are 2 sides to every coin - the picture taking thing for example, I feel for you, but on the other hand, when you are in those crowds and spend 5 minutes trying to set up a picture, that's irritating, too. You can't expect everything to stop every time you want to take a picture!

There's the other thread going on right now about not giving up your seat for others who need it and while I agree with it not being easy to tell who needs it, if you are a teenager and there's a woman who looks like your grandma standing, give her your seat!!!!!!! I see teenagers sitting and elderly people standing on almost every bus.

But here's the thing that irks me the most on the buses. When you're taking those last buses when the parks close and people are letting their little ones sleep over 2 or 3 seats while others stand. Put the kid on your lap!

::MickeyMo People complaining about lines, crowds, prices.

::MinnieMo People referring to the MK as "Disney World" and everything else "Those Other Parks"

::MickeyMo Taking my MIL along. (teasing - I love her) :rotfl2:

::MinnieMo People cussing around all of the children in WDW

::MickeyMo People that do not put sunblock on their kids

::MinnieMo People that smoke in UNdesignated areas

::MickeyMo People who expect a discount code for Disney and plan a trip around it before a code is ever released.

Note: I do not HATE any of these things or people, just find them a bit annoying. We all do things to annoy people, so I am not exempt.

People who crowd the Fast Pass Return Line waiting for their time so that you have to push and shove to get through. Especially when they refuse to move when you say "excuse me".

oooohhhhh, you just hit upon what I hate about airports!!!! They call your row, but people are standing in front of the entrance to the gate and you can't tell who's in line or not. I guess they have to try to bully their way on early so they can take up all the overhead space with their giant luggage that they won't check.

Ooo...that reminds me. I need add sun block to the "to be packed" list! :teeth:

:earboy2: Mine is also definitely people who stop in the middle of the walkway to look at their maps, etc. It's like driving...pull over to the side of the "road!" :rotfl:

1. PI drunks.

2. People who have no consideration for others who are taking pictures. I'm not talking about those who accidentally walk in front of the camera. I'm talking about those who will shove picture taking people out of the way because THEY want a picture. Yes, this happened to me in Epcot when trying to take a picture of character masquerade people...the CM in costume literally had to stop people so I could get the picture because I had been waiting for a long time while people literally shoved me out of the way every single time I had my camera to my face.

3. Parents who insist on keeping their children out until 2am (i.e. at PI) when they're so obviously exhausted (and this is especially irksome when they expect those same children to be up early in the morning...and then those poor children are yelled at when they wind up being cranky).

4. People who have to complain aboout EVERYTHING about WDW (bad food, long lines, there was a speck of dust in my room, etc).

5. People who feel the need to basically walk around naked.

Well, when MK was the only park in Orlando....what else would people call it other than DW or MK??

I can't stand the people who STOP dead in their tracks - reading their maps or looking around....

Parents who let their kids run wild at the resorts...let them out to the pools and such with no supervision....it really can put a damper on things.

Well, when MK was the only park in Orlando....what else would people call it other than DW or MK??
Well, it's the fact that MK is no longer the only park in Orlando. There are 3 other parks in DW asided from MK...so yeah, it gets a bit old to hear MK referred to as DW and then the others are cast to the side as "those other parks". I have guests coming into my store arguing with me about this very thing. They insist MK is the only park in DW and the other 3 parks are not part of DW at all.

If WDW is the supposed to be the happiest place on earth then there wouldn't be any pet peeves would there?

I guess my pet peeve would have to be people that are not tolerant of other people. We all believe different things. I try to always look at that. Crying kids, strollers, people stopping, etc., don't bother me so much as people that are just plain rude.

I don't like to see kids getting hit around. I don't like to see them being screamed at. But, most of the time when we see kids getting in trouble we aren't seeing the whole thing. My girls are like most sibllings, I think, they pick at each other. This happens on a daily basis, at some point during the day. Most of the time it's just a, "Girls, get along." That is said in a calm voice. If you were to walk by me and hear me say that you'd think nothing of it. Every so often, a couple warnings doesn't work. Then I do raise my voice. No, I don't yell and scream at them, just a more stern voice. Of course, if you walked by me then you might think that I was being a crab in the happiest place on earth. But, I'm not. I'm taking care of an issue so that our day can be more pleasant. We don't need to go back to our resort. We just need to deal with the issue at hand. Then go on and be happy.

As far as forcing a kid to ride a ride. My older daughter is the biggest chicken in the world. Everything scares her, which is fine. But, once she does something she loves it. Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror were two rides that we pretty much had to drag her on. She, of course, loved them and they are now her favorite rides. We took her on a ride at our local amusement park in Iowa, and she actually cried in line. I'm sure that people thought we were horrible. When we did get up there we told her she didn't have to ride, but she wanted to. Did she quit crying? No. I sure hope the people that were giving us looks stayed to see that she went on the ride another three times after that.

People who think their children and family are entitled to a better time at WDW than I am, because I'm an adult without kids. (A great instance of this is the parade pushers. )

Oooh, that is a GOOD one.
Another one is when you are standing in line and the person behind you might as well jump on your back, they are so close. Have you ever heard of "personal space"?
Here's another one, I'm sure many will agree on. The situation: You made the mistake of hitting counter-service between 11:30a and 1p. The lines are out of control and you are only dealing with it because you are starving. The person in front of you has a child with them. It is their turn to order, then you hear from the parent "What would you like?" and proceed to read off the entire menu and throw in "no, they don't have that here, do you want this? How about this?", even though they could have started the process 10 minutes ago. ooooooooh!

I vote for the yelling at the kids! C'mon, get a grip! They're away from home, totally overwhelmed, picking up on your stress, getting up early, out of their routine, overtired, possibly walking everywhere...I could go on. Please, parents, take your kids back to the hotel for a nap! (You could probably use one yourself!) And just go with the flow....That's my 2 cents.:teeth:

The pushing/nudging/accidental bumping in the lines. Drives! Me! Insane! Once is fine - but don't sway back and forth and bump into me 27 times while waiting for a ride. I usually have a back pack, so yeah, they don't actually hit ME per se, but still, if I'm knocked off balance, you need to apologize and then take a step back to make sure it doesn't happen again. We're all in line, the ride holds X number of people at a time, pushing me isn't going to get you on the line any faster.

My biggest peeve...

People who have no tolerance or patience for their fellow man.

[B]]#1 IRK - WHY DO YOU KEEP GOING BACK THERE?[/B]

It makes me sooooooooooo mad...I see flames! If you don't want to go that's your problem but leave me alone!

Here's one of mine: People who have been to attractions before and ruining it for newbies by 1) talking loudly thru it or 2) revealing a surprise in the attraction before it occurs. Had this happen when I took some newbies to Indiana Jones. I knew about the volunteers and the "CM" volunteer but I wanted them to be surprised. Well the people in back were pointing out the "ringer" and talking about him. There goes the surprise. Many of us have been there over and over but please think about those there for the first time. Wasn't it fun to be surprised?

I have to say it- my biggest pet peeve is people who worry too much about what other people are doing, especially when they don't know the circumstances surrounding the situation... Just worry about yourself unless you see something that truley requires intervention and you'll have a great time! We all have pet peeves, I have lots of them, but I don't spend my time focusing on them, I shrug them off and move on with my day :flower: (most days ;) )

This is what irritates me : We are waiting patiently with our girls in a character greeting line and as soon as it is our turn some parent comes out of nowhere and pushes their kids in front of ours. GRRRR I feel like telling them 'Wait in line like the rest of us!!'

I was reading this and enjoying it but didn't think I would have anything to add. And then I remembered my DH and I standing in line to go on Space Mountain back in February. There was a group of teenage girls in front of us and they did so many things that annoyed me, but one thing was--sitting on the railing between the two aisles. And not only did she sit there but she didn't seem to catch on that the line was in slow but constant motion. So every 30 seconds she would have to jump off and run ahead to her friends. And jump back up again. They were part of a group (cheerleaders, but I'm not saying that all cheerleaders are bad). I went to WDW as a teenager with my band and a lot of emphasize was put on representing ourselves well. We were often complimented on our respect and good behavior. These girls apparently did not get the same talk.....
