What do Norwegians drink???- A Dec 2014 PTR **Update 12/19--It's Almost TIMEEEE!!!*

Not only did I completely miss that you had started this PTR, but you've been an update machine! I loved your last TR, so I'm subbing on this as well :)

Way to work the magic and make the trip a reality. I was able to convince the matriarch in this family to go back to WDW a few years back, but that took a lot of help from a then-6-year-old girl ;)

Great meal selections, IMO. I keep trying to get Kristin to go back to LC some time, but the "2 credits" thing is an inhibitor. Odd, though, since she's a lot like you in regard to steak.

We've never eaten at California Grill, Tony's, or 50s Primetime, so I'll be interested to hear about those as well (even though I've already read about them in past TRs).

Keep trying for BoG!

Well thank you very much for joining in! I did notice Kristin ate a lot of steak in your TR, so at least she can identify with my love for WDW steak. haha. You guys definitely should try 50's Primetime next time y'all go, it's a pretty fun atmosphere! Thanks to your update on Artist Point, we are now considering it!!!

I just discovered this and I'm enjoying reading about your planning! I love that you've already decided what you want to get at most of the meals (and there is definitely no such thing as too much steak).

I LOVE those shoes! They look like they're probably super sparkly. I can't imagine how much work it must have been to glue on all of those rhinestones!

Thanks so much for reading!! I just started reading your PTR this morning, and I have to say you're very talented with computer graphics!! I would be lost! I'm going to finish reading what you have, and will post a comment just in case you don't see this one! Can't wait to read the rest of your plans as well!

Hi joining in! :wave2:

First of I love the shoes and can only imagine how much work went into them :faint:

Your plans sound awesome! I love Disney at Christmas time but I would never go as close to X MAS as you are going!:santa: The crowds scare me away.

Can't wait to read more!

Hello!! Thank you for reading so far and for complementing my shoes! I'm so jealous you actually get to go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!

Hi, I came over here from seeing your post in SarahDisney's PTR!

I just wanted to comment and say that the shoes are awesome! I would absolutely wear those! I bet they will look amazing while in motion, when the light is hitting them. Great job.

So I'm back! I had to take a couple of days off due to getting my third cortisone shot in my wrist this year.
Needless to say the pain I have been experiencing the past two days has prevented me from typing, but I should be okay now.

I told my dad that we would be snacking around the world, and he kind of gave me a crazy look... but I know once we are there he will join me!

On with the PTR! So, when I left you last time I had just discussed the snacks I was going to eat in the France pavilion. Up next is Morocco!

Obviously Morocco is one of my most favorite pavilions to photograph. (I forgot to add I spent the first 4 years of college at LSU enrolled in the photography program, so it is definitely my thing). Anyways, last December dad and I went and shot a bunch of Morocco pictures--which I will add here for your viewing pleasure:

So obviously for Morocco, we are going to try the Spice Road Table. I'm pretty excited about it, and cannot wait to try an alcoholic beverage there!

If you are interested in this place, definitely check out Disneyfoodblog.com for their review on it!
Here is the menu from Disney's website: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/epcot/spice-road-table/menus/dinner/

So, I am planning on ordering the Mediterranean Journey (Cointreau, Peach Vodka, Orange Juice topped with Grenadine) for my drink, and the Harissa Chicken Roll for mom and I to split.

I have high expectations for this place, and hope it does not disappoint. Has anyone reading this tried it out?? If so, what do you think?!

Thanks so much for joining in! :wave2: I'm glad you did, cause I love your PTR as well! And thanks for the complement on my shoes, I'm pretty obsessed! lol.

I love the Morocco pavilion, it really is so beautiful. I love your pictures! I've never had a lot of time to walk around and take pictures, but I'm hoping to have some time to do that on my next trip.

I wish I could give you my opinion on the food at Spice Road Table, but I've never been there. From what I've seen, people seem to like it.

I hope your wrist is feeling better!

Up next in my snacking adventure is Japan. The obvious choice is the Kabuki Cafe... which is known for Kaki-Gori.

Side story about Kaki-Gori... Back in 1998 (I was 9 years old), my family and I sailed on the inaugural sailing of the Disney Cruise Line on the Magic (We took a 4 day cruise, and spent 3 days in the parks at WDW). This was a trip of firsts as Animal Kingdom had JUST opened in April of that year. One of the first things I remember doing in AK, was going to go look at the animals they had throughout the park.

When my dad and I reached the Silverback gorillas, we witnessed one vomiting (yes, it was disgusting... and I'm sorry I just said that without warning you guys). For some reason, dad and I referred to the gorilla vomiting as Kaki-Gori. I have no idea why, but it has stuck with us since then. Obviously when I chose my snack in Japan, it will NOT be Kaki-Gori... hahaha.

I am planning on getting the Green Tea ice cream, which is my FAVORITE!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

So, yeah. Anyways... next up is the American pavilion.

Here is a picture I took last year of those crazy birds that LIVE in the American pavilion...

Mom is probably going to get a Bud Light, and I will get the Rocky Road Mousse Brownie. We are planning on eating here for a counter service one day, so it is possible we will just skip this snack stop. But, who knows!

14994503002_4a442fc34f_z.jpg

Ok, so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get fat at WDW this Christmas! There's just so so so much stuff I want to eat, but I know I won't be able to snack at EVERY pavilion. I'm just wishful thinking, but who knows I'll skip lunch and dinner one day to actually complete this plan. haha.

Thanks so much! Hopefully Spice Road Table will be something we like! The world showcase is definitely a place to take pictures, but it does consume A LOT of time!!

Joining in! Love your PTR so far! I’m going in December this year too – can’t wait! A couple notes – if you like peanut butter and chocolate a great snack in Canada would be the Wonderbar chocolate bar – they’re amazing! lol And also – I LOVE LOVE LOVE those shoes!!! They're fantastic!

Thanks so much for reading! That's awesome that you're going in Dec too!
Thank you for the tip, I might have to try that... sounds pretty good!!!

I'm backkkk! So, next on my stop for snacking around the world is Italy. Clearly everyone knows about the gelato cookie sandwiches here, but I'm more of a classic tiramisu kind of girl.

Tiramisu is probably my most favorite desert ever! I make it for every holiday, and everyone lovessss it (at least they say they do... hahaha).

Another thing that sounds AMAZING on this menu is the Italian Margarita. So that'll definitely be on my list for when I stop here!

Here is a picture I shot last trip of the Italy pavilion:

Moving right along we have Germany... which I have a feeling I will go overboard with the snacks here! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Let's discuss the Karamelle-Kuche. Caramel, chocolate, sugar, more caramel, occasional apples sprinkled in, more sugar, caramel, and oh ummm caramel. What is there not to love??:love:

14828347338_e3d933998c.jpg

Alright so, I know everyone talks about how amazing the chocolate/caramel covered grapes are here, but I've never had them so I can't really say my opinion other than they look AMAZING!!! It is fruit, so it's healthy... duh.

15014605652_c043c6470a.jpg

I'll take like 6 of those to start...

And omg what about this gorgeous creation?!

You guys can have your school bread, and Mickey bars... I'll be in Germany eating the entire country's caramel supply! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

We got gelato on a previous trip - it was very authentic and very delicious! How is the tiramisu there, do you know?

I didn't know they had caramel covered grapes! I don't feel like I would like that, even though I'm crazy over caramel. Now the caramel pineapple spear - THAT I can imagine eating! :)

I haven't been in the Disney mood lately, but I'm glad to see you're still in full planning mode! You're giving me great ideas of things to do and get while I'm there! That caramel cupcake looks DEVINE! :cloud9:

The tiramisu is pretty delicious, but it is hit or miss! Sometimes they have too much espresso taste to it, and sometimes not enough. Ahhhh can't wait to try the Caramel stuff! I bet the pineapple is AMAZING!

Subscribing and enjoying your PTR!

Heyyy! Thanks for joining in!!

Oh girl, I've been so busy this week with the new semester that I haven't been in the mood for anything but sleeping! hahaha. That cupcake does look amazing, it makes me want to bake cupcakes today!!

Alright, I'm back to finish the updates on my Snacking around the World plan. Sorry for those of you reading that I took so long... the fall semester started this week, and I have been crazy busy!

Real Life Update: I have to go on Wednesday to get a crown on one of my teeth, which is a bummer. I'm VERY upset about it, and I'm a big baby with stuff like that so it'll be miserable. :crazy2:
Like I stated earlier, school started at LSU and I feel like I never have enough energy to stay awake super late anymore! There is soooo much to do, including some projects I am in the process of. Hopefully I can muster up some energy and get it done!

Mom, my DBF, and I decided to drive an hour to New Orleans yesterday. We went to Oceana Grill and ate lunch, which is a restaurant right off of Bourbon St. After lunch, we went up and down Bourbon St. a few times. It was fun, but VERY hot! I drove us back home, and DBF/I went to shoot some pool last night. Of course I kicked his butt in pool! No Joke. I'm pretty amazing at bank shots.

Overall it was a fun Labor Day weekend, but it is back to school tomorrow. Is it December yet??!?!

So, there are three more pavilions on my quest to gain a million lbs in Epcot. Up next is China. Last year, we ate a counter service meal at China where I discovered Lychee ice cream. While I liked it for the most part, I will not be eating there again this trip. Instead, I have chosen the Joy of Tea.

The Menu:

Here I am planning on getting the CantoLoopy as a drink, and the BBQ pork bun.

15091030466_69b7c7cae0.jpg

I am also contemplating getting an egg roll, but I'm sure I'll be super full already!

Up next--Norway. The obvious choice is the Kingla Bakeri Og Kafe, where EVERYONE is obsessed with the school bread.

15111085581_a4d7a24a2f.jpg

I however, will not be ordering the school bread... my choice is the Viking mousse. It's not only adorable, but it's also chocolate!

15113715362_16fae136e5.jpg

Lastly, Mexico time! I will probably split some nachos with my mom, if I can still stand to eat anything else at this point! :crazy2: I know I'll be full beyond belief, but it'll be fun to try all of these things!

15111145941_6cbc07fcc8.jpg

So, there you have it... my plan to get fat in Epcot! I will definitely try to come back soon and keep you guys posted with my plans, as well as read some of the PTR's/TR's I'm following myself!!

Sounds like you had a fun weekend!

That Viking mousse is adorable - and you can never go wrong with chocolate!

Snack plan looks great, and I hope you get to complete your goal of snacking around the world!
