what do most adults wear on pirate night?

Just wondering what most adults wear for pirate night?

Some adults go all out with full costumes. We had eye patches bought at a party store, and pirate bandanas (also from the party store) for my three kids. DH simply wore an eye patch with a hawaiian shirt. I tied a scarf around my head with big hoop earrings, eye patch. It really was fun for the pictures and after that the patches got put in pockets, and my scarf ended up around me as we watched the fireworks!!

Most people wear jeans and some sort of a shirt. A relative minority dress up. The longer the cruise, the more dressed.

True, on the shorter cruises people tend to wear jeans and a pirate t-shirt.

I'll see if I can figure out how to post a picture, but the majority of our family wore: jeans, white t-shirt, and a red strip of fabric as a sash. For my dad, we bought a full pirate costume (think Captain Hook) and for my DH I picked up a pirate hat/hair combo.

There's a whole range. We aren't big into pirates, so we didn't dress up at all and we did not feel out of place.

There were some fantastic costumes!! It was difficult to tell crew & passengers apart, except for the name tags in some cases. Some costumes were very elaborate. You do get a pirate bandanna at dinner, and you can wear it if you choose.

What is considered a long cruise? We are going on a 7 day Fantasy next summer and I'm up for any reason to dress up and have fun!!!

I love to see adults go all out for this.
But, since I am just doing the 3 night this time I think I am just gonna wear my black pirate shirt, pirate bandana, skull hair scrunchy and black shorts. I will prabaly even wear black sandles this time. I am feeling rather lazy about it this time around. But, hey wear whatever you want.

I define short as anything less than 7 nights....but other opinions may differ.

Wear whatever you want--seriously, anything from a full, elaborate costume to jeans and t-shirt is fine.

We are cruising on a 4 night in May. My DD 4 has a pirate costume she got from the Pirate's League. I'm going to get a similar costume for DS 2 to wear. I bought myself a pirate hat, black & white striped shirt that looks kind of pirate-y that I'll wear with some skinny jeans or capri pants. I'll be lucky if I can get DH to wear an eye patch...he's not really into dressing up. I think if you're not into doing a full costume any kind of pirate shirt with jeans/shorts and a pirate patch, bandanna or hat would be great.

My BFs family is going on a short cruise. A 4 night. I'm going to school for costumes, and I don't care what they say, they are going in full costume. I refuse to let them out of the room knowing I could have done better. They love this kinda stuff anyway.

Dh and I usually just wear jeans or shorts and pirate tees, i have a pair of skull earrings and necklace I picked up at Mk I wear. Usually we will add the bandanas given to us at dinner.

I agree with others that no matter what you wear, you'll fit in. However, it was a lot of fun to dress up. Depending on when your cruise is, you can find great discounts on costumes after Halloween.

On our recent MR cruise, some people dressed up a lot, some a little, some not at all. You won't feel strange no matter what you choose. BUT...we did go all out, all of us dressed up in costumes and we had SO much fun. It was great for photos, and we got tons of compliments from everyone on board.
