This is our 2nd visit, but really our first since the first time was only for 2 days and we were so unprepared.

We (me, dh, dd, 17, ds, 10) will be there at Pop Century for 6 days in February. I'm trying to figure out what we need to bring, besides the obvious clothes and toiletries. I've heard that I should bring a power strip for electronics, but what else are must haves?

Thanks!!

Bathroom counter space is very limited. I bring a plastic over-the-door shoe holder. The pockets are great for holding everyone's toiletries.

Pop up hamper made of mesh, at Wal Mart by regular hampers. Keeps the room much cleaner because dirty laundry now has a place to go and it folds flat and fits very nicely at the bottom of your suitcase. Bring along a ziplock of laundry detergent (powder, double bag it to be safe) and you can do laundry at the resort site while everyone swims.. it is right next to the main pool. Bring quarters too...

Dollar store poncho's, I believe Wal Mart has them for a buck too, in camping section. It will likely rain on you at some point and they are small and fit in your park bag nicely and cheap enough to toss afterwards.. I buy a few days worth. My DD really likes the penny squishing machines that are all over the park and resorts, makes a great souvenir for not much money. Get a mini M&M case, eat the M&M's of course, and fill it with quarters and pennies as it takes two quarters and one penny to do the pressed pennies. Pre 1982 pennies work the best btw. Keeps the coins neat and contained, small and convenient to put in park bag.

Dining reservations! Think long and hard about your dining styles and if you want a sit down, figure it out and make it. DD and I insist on a sit down dinner each night. I first decide where I want to eat, then look at the theme parks and pick which one I want to do each day, based on fireworks and crowd levels each day, and then schedule for that day. Some people think its planning to much, but as you know.. if you go to WDW with no plan you are not prepared and are wasting your money.

Lastly, I shipped myself a package to the resort before we left. Inside were breakfast items, disposable bowls and spoons, booze (I like a drink before bed and don't always want to pay $15 a drink), and various other items I can't remember atm... all things that would be used and would not be on return flight home but helped us for the trip. When you check in you tell them you have a package and they retrieve it for you.

Oh!! Ok, this is the last one.. you can sign up on these boards to do a fridge swap. Free mini fridge for your room! You sign up on the list for your dates, its left with baggage services at the resort by previous person and when you leave you attach next persons info and leave it for them. Was wonderful to have a fridge, for free, at a Value resort. :wizard:
