We're trying to take as little cash as possible, so what do I need cash for? I can use credit card for meals right(table or counter service)? What about snack carts and that type of thing? What else CANNOT be paid for with a credit card?

Almost everything on Disney property can be paid using your room key/credit card, even most small carts.

I usually have $50 on me a day for emergencies and tips etc....

I do charge most things to the room but snacks and tips and other small incidentals.

Wish I could help you but we're the exact opposite. We prefer to use cash because we can judge our spending better. If we were just swiping the card all the time we'd have no idea what was spent! :)

You'd need cash for tips (mousekeeping, valet, and bell hop) and the few carts that can't take credit cards or room keys. Sit down and counter service take cards, and you can even charge the tip to the waitress! Don't worry, they get paid there tips in cash at the end of their shift, I know some people don't like to charge tips because they think they server has to wait to get the money.

I made tip envelopes for mousekeeping ahead of time to keep that tip money separate from the rest of my cash, then kept about $40 in small bills on me for an 8 night stay. I don't think I ever used an ATM so it must have been enough.
