What do I get exactly with a preffered room

I personaly don't want it, but it is a grand gatherings thing of 25 and the other 7 rooms are going prefer so to stay with my family I am doing it. Seems like a total waste of $ to me, but oh well.

I think it was like $25 extra night for 12 nights which = $300 . So what am I getting for that? Closer to the pool? Ground level room? Gold plated sink? hehe

Well, at FQ there are really no Preferred Rooms, but they have Water View rooms. That is probably what you mean. At FQ, those rooms are the exact same as the standard view, except that you get a view of the River or pool. Hope that helps.
