Need some ideas/recipes. DH came home with a 5 pound hershey bar from a trade show this week.

So I have a huge hunk o chocolate to deal with LOL

Do you have kids

Go buy a chocolate sucker mold, and melt it down into treats for their Halloween party.

Other choices:
Eat it
Send it to me, and I will eat it for you:cutie:

my first thought, was...well, lets just say i better not say it.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I meant what should I *make* with it.

eating it was a given but I am trying to be good and not eat too much of it.

In addition to eating it straight, you could make chunks for cookies, melt some and dip strawberries, and there ar ea ton of recipes, I'm sure. Chocolate freezes well, too, but you might want to break it into smaller, more manageable chunks.

How come the only swag MY DH brings home is pens and lightbulbs? I want the giant candy bar type of swag! It's no fair!

last week it was a huge bag of beef jerky, carmel corn, and all sorts of snacks.

He also got a nice coat and a couple of shirts

this week it was the mondo chocolate bar. LOL

Gotta love trade show season but its heck on the diet.

Sounds like a great trade show. I would make s'mores and chocolate chip pancakes (just break pieces of the bar into the pancake batter). Or if you have company over, put it out for dessert.

My dad once got a giant chocolate Santa Claus as a gift. Not quite sure how it happened, but we ended up sending it to an orphanage in Russia. One of his friends was going there I think, and offered to take the chocolate Santa, since we couldn't eat that much chocolate. I guess there's no problems taking chocolate through customs?

Take about a pound of it and melt it, stir it into a large tub of Cool Whip and pour into a graham cracker pie crust and freeze for an hour or so. Then take out and eat!

Wow - my DD has been BEGGING for a 5 pound bar of chocolate!

Seriously, they have one in a store here, and every time we go in, she begs for it. We haven't been there in awhile and she mentioned it just yesterday. Would I let her buy it if she saved up her own money for it? Well...it's FORTY DOLLARS!!! I keep thinking what else she could buy with $40 (2 video games for the DS, clothes, etc.) plus dang, the thing is HUGE! She'd gain more than 5 pounds from eating it, I'm sure - lol. (no, of course I wouldn't let her eat it all at once, but still!)

Break it up, freeze it, melt it for fruit dip, bake with it, make candy with it, I think you have enough to do it all! No wonder you're asking for ideas!

I hear chocolate is good for the skin!! Melt it down and take a bath in it!! LOL!! I live downtown in Hershey. We get to smell chocolate alot!! The Spa at Hotel Hershey does offer chocolate baths and also chocolate covered strawberry baths. I hear they are amazing but haven't tried one myself yet! Enjoy the 5 lb. bar!!

Melt part of it for fondue with strawberries and pineapple.:goodvibes

Freeze the rest until you have different recipes you wish to try. :)

Golden grahams and melted hershey's--YUM! And for those who must have marshmallow--you can add fluff.

I told her the same thing on facebook! Binny, I can give my address and you can mail it to me!;)

Awww- thanks for the memory.:goodvibes

I have no ideas for you- but wanted to thank you for making me smile.

My son played the part of Charlie Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for school and he had to dance around on stage holding a 5 lb bar of chocolate while singing the "I've got a Golden Ticket" song.

Which would have been wonderful, except he broke both wrists three weeks before opening night of the performance.

After the closing performance, all the kids that were in the production had their names put into a hat (over 100 of them!) and they drew a winner for the chocolate bar.

He didn't win it- thank goodness- I was terrified of what we'd be doing with that monster.:cutie:

Hope you enjoy your bar of chocolate.:cloud9:

I'd melt a little of it down and eat it with strawberries. Yum.

You could probably make chocolate covered pretzels for the entire neighborhood :rotfl:.

I think you should share it...
