I can't find the rip. It's very small. It started last year. We would just add a couple inchs of water every few days. We didn't want to buy a new liner just before winter. So, we closed it up as is. When we opened it there was only about a foot of water in there. It's still leaking. I don't want to buy a new liner if I don't have to. It's only two years old. How do I find the hole? We've tried the dye but it doesn't seem to flow to one spot. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can you call a pool place to come out to find the rip?

If it is still leaking, sounds like your leak is in the lower section of the liner. There are patches you can put on, but as you said, locating the leak is the hard part. Perhaps now that the water level is low you can systematically feel across the liner with your hands, feeling for a crack or small tear. Good luck!

I agree. That was what I was hoping.

Another thought - you indicated this is a 2 year old liner - was it a replacement liner? If so, did you replace the gasket/seal on the bottom drain? If you don't feel anything in the liner, you may be losing water due to a leaky seal.

With our pool liner I thought it had a leak and called the pool people out. Turned out there are bugs that eat the liner and live in the sand so when he looked at it and lifted it up a little there were very tiny holes all over the liner bottom that you could not see as you looked in the liner filled with water. We had to treat the sand under the pool and buy a new liner.

We hired a diver to check for leaks when we had to start adding water every day or so. He found about 5 little holes down on the bottom of the deep end. The couple hundred bucks sure was cheaper than a new liner.
