What do I do?? I got banned from VMK. :(

All I did was say I am in college. Then I tried to talk to my friend and because her user name is a real name it banned me. Will I ever be able to go back in?

I've never heard of this happening before. Can you quote the exact message it gives you when you try to log in?

It said something about how I can no longer log in because I have been banned as of 10:14am It said ban expires.. but it didn't make sense because the date that followed was today's.. ? But I still can't log in.

I just made a new account and am starting all over again..

I read another post somewhere by a person who had been banned and it only lasted for 4 hours...that might be why the date on yours is the same. Try again tonight after dinner and see if you get your character back!

I was warned last night that I was typing too fast also. Then I was told I couldn't type for 20 seconds, and it counted down on the screen until I was able to type again! I felt badly, because someone was asking me a question and he thought I was ignoring him.

Bans for breaking VMK rules can last for: 2 hours, 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or permanently. Yours (based on what you said you did, and what message you got) sounds like a 2h or 24h ban, for a relatively "minor misdemeanor."

So you should be back shortly

Strange though -- usually saying "I'm in college" would normally just net you a warning. A VMK staff might have been in a bad mood that day.


The 20 second text mute is just an automatic way to prevent you from typing too many lines too quickly. Note that it's a function of how many lines, not how many words, so if you type one word per line, you'll incur the 20-second mute much more quickly.

As for the typing to fast "20 second countdown" I got that today too. I'm a fast typer though.. I found it annoying though especially if you are in the middle of a conversation with somebody in VMK, if seems like you are ignoring them and being rude..

My niece was in a room chatting when she was asked if she was a kid. She immediately disappeared and she got a warning about giving personal info. I'm kinda glad they are so strict because of the kids. Maybe they need an "adult" site.

While I totally agree Disney needs an Adult VMK doing so would not stop Predators from entering the site for the Children. Even if Disney made the child site only children predators would just register as children.

I feel for Disney on this one they have a really hard job keeping VMK safe...that is why I really try and monitor my child as closly as possible when ever he is on VMK.... laughing because Mommy is on all the time and he does not get much game time

i remember that i was in central park talking to my vmk friend and this dude came up to us parked himself infront of me and started asking me personal questions and i got freaked out and my friend just sat there and didn't know what to do but i just kept saying i can't tell (even though i could) and he would ask why and i said because and then he was all mad and i think he was about to ask me out but it was so funny when these girls who were watching the whole thing the guy went up to them they ignored him and he went up to other people while i watched and then my other vmk friend came on and she like basicly talked to him and made him get so mad he left i hate people who do that! it annoys me but usually im with a vmk friend and they say something
