What do centipedes eat?

My cat often chases centipedes, but they're good at running under baseboards and things. He does occasionally "get" one though. He'll play with it until it's pretty well handicapped, and then he EATS it. I once heard that cats shouldn't eat centipedes because they're poisonous or something.

He hasn't died yet.

The most DISGUSTING bug EVER are EARWIGS!!!!!!!!!!! Ick!!!!

Even spiders are better than earwigs!

The ones I have ever seen in or around my house, end up eathing the bottom of my shoe - spiders too

Oh, speaking of "green goo",
DD loves caterpillars. A few monthes ago she had one crawling on her hand. Annabelle, our dog, jumped up, bit it in half, swallowed what was in her mouth then ate the other half off the driveway - while DD4 is screaming to the top of her lungs, "Annabelle, that wasn't bery (can't say "v") nice!!!"

LOL! Perhaps Annabelle could come over here - I've got plenty of centipedes to go around (not many caterpillers, but hey, the centipedes are like free lunch).

I was a tom boy growing up & tended to pick up bugs to "inspect" them. For the most part they don't bother me.

I hate the big, black water bugs we get living here on the farm. "Water bug" is a euphemism for 'giant black cockroach'. Sometimes I get up at night & see a bunch on the kitchen floor. Those things get to be ~3" long. Eeewwww!!!! I'll kill them with a shoe, though. (Them or me, don't you know! )

However, thousand leggers are absolutely the most heinous thing in all of Creation!

I can't even kill them myself. DH has to come get them for me!!!

I'm sitting here with the shivers, now. I KNEW I shouldn't have read this.

I know this thread has been quiet awhile....

but I had to add that I had never thought about, seen or interacted with a centipede in my life until this week.

I had one on my shoe in a parking lot yesterday. Tonight, my husband tells me "did you hear me beating the centipede to death this morning while you were sleeping"??? Now I see this thread....

All I know is that if I ever see one in my bedroom (where he killed it) I'm moving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
