What do 9yr old buys like?

Besides all the others, models and puzzles are good non gaming things. Also my DGS is interested in little diorama like building things..landscapes, little trees, etc. Kinda like old school Minecraft.

My DS 10 is into Minecraft as well. He also loves video games and sports. I know gift cards are "boring" but my boys love to get them. When anyone asks what to get my boys, gift cards are the first thing I say. They all love to shop with their own money.

Nike Elite Socks!!

These socks are SOOO popular in our area but are pricey at $14.00 a pop. However they are the IN thing for many 9 yo boys. At least among my 9yo and all his buddies!

Now they are all also into minecraft and playing sports. How about a gift card to a sports store?

I wouldn't get sports stuff if you don't know he's into it or that would be a big letdown.

I think you're safe with anything r/c (don't forget to include batteries). I got my 9yo an r/c helicopter from amazon for $19 this year. I bought the same one for my 15yo last year and it's good quality for the price.

Snap Circuits would be good, science kits that don't require a lot of extra stuff, we just did a crystal kit that came with everything except I needed to help boil water. Loom bands are popular.

If he doesn't have a video game system I would stay away from Minecraft stuff.

Gift cards are also popular, mine loves being able to pay for himself at McDonalds or Subway.
