I need to buy a bday gift and christmas gift for my 9yr old nephew and I have no idea anymore what this age group enjoys, any suggestions?

Legos are almost always right. My son is 8.5 now and loves Halo, Legos, Pokemon cards, Nerf guns, etc.

They are into legos, video games, those loom bracelet kits are VERY popular right now. All the kids both boys and girls are into making them.

Also depending on if he's into sports, would like a new football, basketball, a jersey, a football or baseball team's merchandise, etc. Those are good gifts for a sports fan! :)

Those are great ideas but Lego's and nerf guns are what I have bought him the last few years. I wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was missing.

I agree with the other suggestions but didn't seeMinecraft listed. My DS just turned 10 and loves Minecraft the best.

My son just turned 10 and we're having a heck of a time trying to think of things for Christmas. He doesn't like legos and doesn't play video games, he has more than enough nerf guns, super soakers and every type of ball available. He has more shirts (sports shirts, character shirts, funny shirts) and sports hats than I care to count.

The only things he has mentioned are the hex bugs nano V2 series and a skateboard (but he is so clumsy that that would be disastrous for him!). And then we figured we would get a sports jersey, since he doesn't have any sports jerseys yet. He also plays on his iPad a lot and adds music, so an iTunes gift card.

This age is really tough. Can you ask his parents what he is into and if there is anything in particular he would like or is asking for?

My son at that age was just starting to get excited about cash and gift cards. Maybe see if there is a gaming store around that he might like a gift card for? DS also liked itunes cards and Target cards. He got a Rubik's cube for his birthday and learned how to solve it by watching some youtube videos and now he loves to try to beat his record, I think he is down to 16 seconds so maybe something along those lines. Or how about tickets to a game or maybe a membership to an attraction nearby?

Snap circuits, fridgits, razor 360, remote control helicopter and exploderz all well played with my son and his friends

Gift Cards or cash! I have Boys so I can only help with that. But for the past few years that's all we've given as gift & the favorites of what they've gotten.

Game Stop
Toys R Us
Target
iTunes
Amazon
Nintendo points
Xbox points
Roblox
Orange Leaf (huge where I live! It's a FroYo place if you don't know)

My 8 yo twins are totally into Minecraft! We have the apps, t-shirts, and computer game.

Legos and Star Wars are popular.

We found these block sets that fit with legos but aren't by lego that light up and stuff. We got them for my nephew last year for Christmas. He loved them.

Minecraft!!! That's the biggest thing right now. XBox 360, playing on our iPhones, reading - if he's in the right mood, animal shows (he's big in to learning and teaching us how he knows more than us ;))

My ds is turning 10 in a couple weeks and he wants a video game and cash. He has recently been to 4 parties for his friends and we gave Target, Gamestop and Dick's Sporting Goods GCs.

Gift card to movie theater. Amazon has electronic email gift card videos you can personalize with photos by jibjab. We got a huge kick out of one the aunt uncle and cousins made for my 8 year old. Made a boring gift card fun and amazon sells a lot!!!!

Lego mine craft was a huge hit here. The box is tiny but is perfect for those mine craft lovers. I have to get the other 2 sets.

We actually just banned my 10yo son from Minecraft because we truly believed he was addicted to it. It was eat, sleep, breathe Minecraft. Even with the rules of play time all he could do was talk about it and watch youtube videos.

Anyway, that's not that question you asked. My son loves his Legos and Hexbugs once again! He also asked for the Hexbugs V2, Lego rescue boat of some sort, and several Wii U games all involving Mario. Other than that everything he has on his list is pricey (Ipad, Ipod, a motor upgrade for his RC monster truck that costs $330 - NOT!) Good Luck!

My grandson recently discovered these plastic building blocks that are magnetic, will connect 3-dimensional colored sections of squares and triangles. No idea what they are called, but are really cool looking.
Last year at SAMs I got a huge remote control truck with rechargeable battery. Like a monster truck. A lot of fun especially outside.

What is he in to?

My 9 year old is into Magic the Gathering game cards, Steam games, Skylanders Wii game, and Google Play gift cards as he has a Nexus 7.

He recently asked for a football, a basketball, and one of those playground 4 square balls. Of all my boys, he is the one who likes sports. Oh, and he also golfs some. But he has clubs so not much he needs there (Dh is a former pro golfer so he makes sure all the boys are well equipped to go out golfing with him!)

I did buy him the Disney Infinity game when it was on sale and plan to get him some characters to go along with it.

What is he in to?

I wish I knew, they live 700 miles away, his mom is a single out of work mom and when I texted her about what he was into this year she said she would let me know but never did. I do want to get him something that other kids are into
because I don't think she has the means to do that right now, but I still can't brake the bank.

These are great ideas and some I already expected since they were the same type of things my now 20yr old son was into at that age.
