What do you think DLRP is really missing? I'm thinking small capital investments that they need to make before the big investment on the 3rd park sometime way in the future.

I'd personally like to see:

  • heavily themed mini golf course like the ones at WDW
  • Restaurants-clubs... Restaurants that serve food but with dancing/entertainment later like at WDW Downtown/Universal citywalk(HoB/Latin Quarter/Margaritaville type places)

I'd like to see a waterpark like typhoon lagoon in wdw

From my 2 visits to Paris i would say the parks need a decent 4d attraction each, woodys round up area needs a total overhaul, more stage shows, a splash mountain type flume ride as every theme park in the world has one regardless of your climate! We even have one in our welsh theme park oakwood and we all know how it always rains in wales! I'd like too see the village improved. I didnt find it that appealing in the evenings for us with a young family on tow. More characters walking around would be nice too. Saying that we have still had 2 fab holidays there.

Agree with the Restaurant/Club. Really hard to find something to do for the evening past 9/10pm! Granted if with kids not an issue, but when just the wife and I we resort to a few drinks in the hotel bar with a pack of cards and a couple bags of crisps! Lol

better theming in studios, more attractions, shows like the big shows they do at studios in orlando, better food standards for all over the resort.
disney resorts worldwide are known for their dining experiences and the food at dlp pales in comparison to the rest in the world, yet ITS PARIS! THE CITY OF FINE DINING.
updates on attractions that are beginning to look tired and run down and tired eg star tours, phantom manor etc. Like they do in the US, updates on technology etc.
there needs to be the "smellvision" they have in the US parks. they pump out lovely smells around the park particularly main street like the smell of baking cookies. It makes it more magical. Why isnt that there?
better customer service and maintenance. Again disney resorts worldwide are known for fantastic cast members and cleanliness and that is often at the foot of the "magic."
studios has no magic at all which needs work on. lack of atmsphere.
More to do at village ala downtown disney
What i'm getting at is that dlp has way too many things to be worrying about before adding a third park. Europe deserves the full disney experience like you get everywhere else, such simple things can make that yet nothing is ever done about it.

what does DLP need ?

sorry long list :

- shows ... there is not a single stage show scheduled ... tarzan's gone, lionking won't be returning, the hub stage has been demolished, fantillusion has been scraped (floats are rotting and molding backstage, litteraly), DOUD has been modified and shortened.

- characters ... you can meet 6 of them, with a lot of pushing and shoving, no lines maintained by CMs, plus an additional couple of characters you can meet, if you happen to be there for the 10 minutes duration of their set, once a day.

- better food ... TS restaurants serve frozen items, just barely thawed and heated. You get the same industrial frozen hamburger from Walt's than you'd get from Anette's, but 4 times more expensive. The only good value remain the buffets like Agrabah (but on the downslope too)

- more maintenance ... if you happen to visit on a day, like a few days ago when POTC, Space Mountain, BTM and Indy are down for the better part of the day, that's a bit hard to swallow.

- even more maintenance ... with part of Space Mountain's roof (gutter over the queue) gave way and splashed the guests below with foul water a few days ago. Rides breaking down all the time. Bits of decor falling apart, paint chipping away ... and last but not least, that Vekoma ingineer who is supposed to have said that Space Mountain had so many cracks in the tracks that it looked like a 50 year old coaster.

- more ambition ... when the big boss P Gas declares to shareholders that guests do come for rides, and not for shows, characters or anything else (to justify the budget cuts in these departments)

- more operating time ... some stores along main street only open at 1pm, to cut on cost, because "guest do not shop in the morning" (yup that's what they say at DLP) and restaurants are closed, for most of them a 7pm, yup just before dinner time ... and food cost and lines are so high and huge that your best bet is to get out of the park and hit earl of sandwich at the Village before going back in for Dreams

What does DLP need ? well ... easy one ... DLP needs to remember that it's a Disney Park ... because right now, it's not worthy of bearing that name.

Exactly !

Thats it !

Studios needs a bit more thought and better theming, entrance is great but after walking through Studio 1 it just feels like a total let down for me.

Disney Village, where do I start! The new Disney Store and Earl Of Sandwich aside it needs a total re-vamp.
There is no nice landscaping, the shops are bland and dull on the inside & outside.
It just lacks so much.

Better value dining options.

Opening times change, 10am is too late for an early riser like my son!

changes are underway at the Village.
They are taking down those pillars with the steel ribbons and the "disney village" signs.
Right now it looks like a war zone (blowotrch scorch marks over the pillars, really a crappy job IMO)

But it's true that the Village is really an ugly place.
It was designed to tell a story by some 1980s architect/artist like those who do "art" (you know, the things you can't make heads or tails of, and wonder if they've been crafted by 4 years old ...)

so know it's been partly taken apart, it doesn't look like "something" anymore, and very few are the people who remember what it was supposed to look like (and to mean) in the first place.

It's high time the village gets revamped. But for this ... money, money, money ... and there is none ...

Ill start with the easy part

Village

The Village needs more atmosphere, right now it is just a place you walk through to get between the parks and hotels, there is no 'Disney' to it, they also need to change the barrier bag check system, so you dont feel like you are being herded around a huge bend to get to the parks, but instead can walk how it was originally designed.

The merchandise is not bad, but the shops arent all open, at the same time and there needs to be a bit more uniqueness, not just the same things that you find in any other shop in the resort.

Some water wouldnt hurt, the lake bookends it , but they either need some fountains/jumping water play areas, or to extend the village round the lake to meet the NBC

Main Park

This is annoying as this has the potential to be the best MK style park in the world, and it used to be, they need to first of all get the maintenance up, things should be working, they should be clean, and they should look new (or old if that's the theming)

Main Street needs a decent bakery that actually draws you in with the smell, but apart from that it is not to bad at all

Frontierland ; they need to put something in Woody round up village, extend the cowboy concept, do something based on Davy Crocket i don't think i can say this loudly enough NOT EVERYTHING PUT INTO A DISNEY PARK HAS TO BE BASED ON A PIXAR MOVIE but for heavens sake use this area of the park and the chaparral theater to effect (Splash mountain esaque ride, you can design a log flume that doesn't soak people, even theme it on Toy Story if you desperately have to), it would really help with flow and crowd capacity, especially if they improve the link to adventure land

Adventure Land, please extend the pathway from Indie coaster to Pirates of the Caribbean so you don't have to walk such a long circuitous route, and it stops Indie from becoming such a dead end, that feels cut of from it and everything else, and then in this new area, either some kind of recorded 3d/anamtronic show (im not even going to hope for live action, although the park desperately needs it) or a good table service restaurant

Fantasyland, seems fine to me, but dont really spend much time in this area

Discoveryland

Update the Star Tours ride, do something with videeopolis, there is so much in the Victorian Sci Fi novels that could be added to this land, Cpatain EO, Seriously, it was rubbish when the replaced the first time

Studio Park

Entrance

Nice fountain area, Studio 1 may be one of the best entrances to any park, but once again this just becomes an area that people walk through to get to somewhere else

Rest of the park, there is too much to say

but essentially move the tram tour back, so there is a more space in the centre of the park, something like Greeat Movie Ride with a Big ICOn for the the park, more water, shoot whoever decided on the loaction of the TOT, and if ytou really want to blow the budget some form of Marvel land, such as the toy story land, with three or so brand new rides with new concepts, not rehases like Toy Storries
Turn the Building on the right as you come in, that currently is guest services and not a lot else, into a decent table service restaurant such as Hollywood and Vine

Spot on. Absolutely spot on.

The two things I miss the most when I go to DLP is Jungle Cruise and Splash Mountain. If they can have a splash mountain in Tokyo they can have one in Paris.

I would of loved to have seen Soarin :)

Just been reading over on the Dibb however that The Walt Disney Company has ceased all future investments of Disneyland Paris as of today.
Very sad if that means nothing new at all for the foreseeable future.

This announcement may not be bad at all, there are many who believe they have cancelled all future investments due to WDC working on a master plan for DLP. This makes alot of sense really as they have done similar things recently in other parks. If they weren't going to do anything at all then why would they buy all the debt from the banks just to let the park sit there and not progress? I can't ever see WDC doing that and DLP is worthy of a huge investment.

I personally think a master plan is in the works, nobody would buy something and just let it wither away.
