I'm not talking about guide books such as Brits Guide, Unofficial Guide. But anything Disney or park related though.

From Sketch To Reality - brilliant book about DLP
Walt Disney Imagineering: A Behind the Dreams Look at Making the Magic Real by the Imagineers (previous years Xmas present)
An American Original Walt Disney - biography of the man himself (from SS)
This years parcels from MIL and SIL
The Imagineering Field Guide to Epcot - An imagineer's Eye Tour
The Walt Disney Trivia Book - Secrets and fun facts behind the magic
The Walt Disney Trivia Book Vol 2

So what have you got? Which ones would you especially recommend? :goodvibes

Hi,

I love disney books, my amazon wish list is always full of them!

I have:

Designing Disney - John Hench - very good with original concept drawings
From Sketch to Reality
Walt Disney Imagineering - good insight on the process
Hidden Mickeys
Walt Disney World Trivia Book
Mouse Tales - ok but some not very disney-like stories
Imagineering field guide to the Magic Kingdom
Imagineering field guide to Epcot
The Imagineering Way

I've also ordered 2 or 3 from amazon over the past couple of years which they keep putting delivery dates back and back until they say they're not available. So annoying!

Lynn

Just a couple for me -

The Walt Disney World Trivia Book: Secrets, History & Fun Facts Behind the Magic by Louis A. Mongello
Hidden Mickeys, 2nd Edition : A Field Guide to Walt Disney World's Best Kept Secrets by Steven Barrett
Disney A to Z: The Official Encyclopedia by Dave Smith
Mouse Tales: A Behind-The-Ears Look at Disneyland by David Koenig
The Disney Treasure

I have got a fw of the books already mentioned:thumbsup2

I also have - Disney War - The battle for the Magic Kingdom
Celebration USA- Living in Disneys Brave New Town

These are both an interesting read

Only my "From Sketch to Reality" which my family bought me for my 40th earlier this year, which we celebrated at DLRP.:goodvibes

I didn't think of adding books to my Christmas wish list, although DH did really well this year - 5 new Maleficent pins and only 1 duplicate and 2 DLRP DVDs I was so impressed.

Forgot that I have these as well. Currently reading Celebration USA which was a Christmas present. Half way through it. Interesting read :)

I am a very sad person and have lots and lots of Disney books. I keep meaning to catalogue them but have still not got round to it. I have all the ones mentioned so far plus quite a few old ones that I managed to get over the years. I love the Art of books and have several of the films and of course Christopher Finchs Art of Walt Disney. Various books about the characters including the wonderful ones about Mickey and Pinocchio and Frank and Ollies book. Several books from around the time Epcot opened about the making of the park. All the books from storming the magic kingdom to Disney wars. Even from the beginning with all the good he did you can see how easy it was for Eisner to go wrong. The hidden Mickey and Trivia books are fun to take on the plane and in the parks just to look for things a bit different. I don't have all the Imaginerring field guides yet but plan to correct that next month when I visit and see which I fancy. I am clearly a bookaholic - just done a very quick count of the ones nearby and there over a 100 just here all Disney books :rolleyes1

Not at all, I for one am rather envious of your fabulous collection!! :rotfl:

I have, in no particular order: Disneyland Paris From Sketch to Reality

Walt Disney Imagineering A Behind the Dreams Look at Making the Magic Real

The Disney Treasures

The Disney Experience

Walt Disney An American Original

The Walt Disney World Trivia Book

WDW's Hidden Mickeys

The Imagineering Field Guide to the Magic Kingdom

The Imagineering Field Guide to Epcot

The Haunted Mansion From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies

Pirates of the Caribbean From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies

Since the World Began*Walt Disney World The First 25 Years

Disney Dossiers

I know I haven't got many books yet but I do carry a list with me of what I've got as I am so afraid of being like my Dad. He collected World War 2 books and had so many he was always duplicating them! :rotfl:

My faves are the big glossy ones like Disneyland Paris From Sketch to Reality, Walt Disney Imagineering A Behind the Dreams Look at Making the Magic Real and Since the World Began*Walt Disney World The First 25 Years although I love The Disney Treasures and The Disney Experience for the little tickets/keepsakes that are in the books, and the Imagineering Field Guides, Trivia Book and Hidden Mickeys are just the perfect size to take to WDW!!

Can you guys tell me what the 'The Imagineering Field Guide' books are like?

TIA

I've had a quick flick through and it looks well informed in bite size chunks :)
I'm sure I will add the others to my collection :goodvibes

I've changed the links to Amazon.com as there is the facility to look inside the books on there. :goodvibes

I have most of the one's you guys have listed but the one I would REALLY like to own is the 'One Day at Disney' by Pam Brandon, this looks absolutely gorgeous but it's so expensive and i've seen it sold for over $200 :scared1:

I have that book and it is lovely. Ticket price is $40 on the cover. Strange thing is I thought I picked this up last year at WDW but I could be confused. I'll look again when we go next month and if it is available at a more reasonable price I'll try and get another one.

It goes through the day and round the world with pictures from the different Disney parks at different times of day. Very clever and very sweet.

I've just looked on amazon and it is available from around £65 (but the sellers ratings are near 90%)

I used to own Mouse Tales but I found it pretty gruesome in places and got rid of it as I have no desire to read it again =/ It really bothered me that the author focused on stuff that happened mostly 20+ years ago or that were teething problems when Disneyland was brand new.
