What Dis Did Not Tell Me

Just return from the Mouse House about 2 weeks ago and I am having shaking withdrawals. Hmm the only thing that has help me with my symptoms are to read trip reports and to continue to print off hotel deals to my hubby, Can you say a girl will do what she needs to get back to the House ASAP!! Yes, Disney is totally an addiction. I am already planning for May 2007!!

your pic cracks me up! :stir: It certainly doesn't look like ALL of you were having a magical day! It looks like someone wants to injure the person behind the camera! :teeth:

OK, Here is the number one thing I wish I would have picked up on this board before our trip. I WANT TO GO BACK... SOON! I really thought 2006 would be our once in a lifetime trip but we all had such a good time we can't wait to go back even my grumpy DH(who DID NOT want to go even once) got up early every day and loved the whole experience. Plus now every other theme park will be a "It's not Disney" experience. I am hooked! I am stilling reading this board and my vacation is over :sad2: I also wonder if the experienced DIS'ers read our trip reports and laugh at how inefficiently the first timers tour the place but maybe our enthusiam makes up for it. :rotfl2:
Welcome Aboard! My "once in a lifetime" trip was December 2005. I planned big too, because I wanted it to be good, the best vacation ever. So I booked 9 days, premium plan at the Polynesian...every decision ever so serious because it's for "the one time we'll be at Disney"...didn't want to miss a thing...so we each had a two page printout with our ADRs, tours, tee times (DH), cirque and so on....we went. It was fantastic. Exhausting. The best vacation ever...BUT...not to be the "only time". I mean gee, they were working on Expedition Everest, we saw them building it...it opened for previews the second we stepped off Disney property, how could we not go back? We just gotta...so here we go again this fall...I'm not even pretending that it will be the last... :teeth:

I agree soooo much about wanting to go back. I went a few times as a child and then once again when I was around 19 or 20. I didn't return until I was 32 and can't wait to get there. I've been very lucky in that my job sends me to meetings that are fantastically scheduled either in Orlando or IN DISNEY. I've been there quite a few times in last couple of years and am still majorly ridiculously excited about a full week in October. I'm already wondering what am I going to do after my Oct trip.

Oh yeah, I need some serious help!

We (the entire fam) were there in Nov. of 2005. I swore, SWORE, that I wouldn't even think of taking another trip until our next scheduled one for 2008. Well....it started with sis and I considering a summer trip (and we hate doing the summer Disney thing) because I can get a great travel agent rate. And, hey, the five of us can squeeze into a room at the POR and split the cost of the room, right? Sure, why not? Now sis can't go but here I am, at work, looking at flights (Non-stop on NW for $192!) and dreaming of surprising the kids with a trip this summer for the 3 of us. Really, I can get an awesome rate at a value resort with my TA discount! But, you know how they get you with the tickets, the food, the "mommy, I want" souveniers, etc. etc. I have a cruise booked for next year to be paid off! I have a wedding in two weeks that still isn't paid off completely!! LOL What is wrong with me?!?!

And yet, have I totally given up on this idea? Nope! :teeth:

Gotta Get To Disney! :moped:

Yes, we are also familiar with this addiction! He is a former CM (worked in The Land as a college intern) and went with buddies a couple times after that. After marrying me (been to DL many, many times, but never WDW) he took me for my birthday in '95 - Oct. was a great time to go, and we get a week off school then. (I am a teacher) We didn't go again until 2000, when our son was 2 1/2 and our daughter was 1! Then in 2001 with our 3rd child, then 6 months! Going with babies was fun, but a lot of work, so we waited 4 years (SO HARD!) and went twice in '05 (once just me and DH for our 10th anniv., then in Oct. with the kids for the free dining plan!). We have our fall trip planned for '06, and we can't wait. He is as bad as me - wishes we didn't have so long to wait! We still want to do the Christmas trip sometime and the Cruise, and Disneyland with the kids (DH and I went in '96 and '02) - his family is almost anti-Disney and thinks we are rich because we go so often. Don't understand that we get deals, and save, and do whatever we have to to get there! They just don't know what they are missing!

Our "once in a lifetime" trip was in Jan 2004, 4 days, but we did it "big". Saw WL on one of those pre-football things, and had to stay there. It was such a great trip! We went from sun up to way past sundown, and the kids never got grouchy or fought. DH said it was the best 4 days of his life. So much for once in a lifetime! Planning third trip for Dec. 2007 :goodvibes I am disney obsessed, and the whole family is addicted. Promised my family in Canada we'd finally go visit them after 3 years, so can't go to Disney this year. I have to admit I am feeling slightly resentful. How bad is that??? Oh well, next trip will be our longest ever, 7 days! I'll be here almost daily until then :sad2:

Hi, my name is Chris and I am a Disney addict!!! We just got back from our "once in a lifetime family trip" on Thursday. I cried all the way to the airport on the NOT-so-Magical-Express-Bus! My DS's 10 and 12 loved it!! We were only there 6 days...not enough time!!! I am already trying to figure out how soon we can go back. This trip took 2 years of scrimping and saving and part of it was paid for by my company (sales incentive that I earned). So I figure 3 years should do it!

Glad I am not alone.....

I am a new member of the once in a lifetime-NOT! club. Planned this "once in a lifetime" trip that we returned from yesterday and have been already looking into when/how we can go back. Guess it would start by going back to make some more money and acrue more vacation time....

DH said to me today that he is ready to go back now - we hadn't even been home for 24 hours! He even went as far as to say that he might want to work there - he is a mechanical engineer and so far from animated in personality that there must be something in the water to make him say that.

I am definitely feeling blue tonight and even shed a few tears today. The post-WDW vacation let down can only be cured by planning the next one!

This trip - 11 days!
Residence Inn Sea World - 3 nights (4/25 - 4/28)
All Star Music - 1 night (4/28)
Saratoga Springs - 7 nights (4/29 - 5/6)
