What Dis Did Not Tell Me

Did you stay in a Disney resort? My sisters and I are convinced that Disney puts subliminal messages in the room why we sleep (come back to Disney and spend all your money).

Either that, of they put something in the water that they splash on you in about half the attractions.

Welcome to the DIS, btw. :welcome:

Now I'm worried! :confused3 We - DD & DSI, DGD15 & 15 (twins  ) DGD12, DGD14,DGS12 and DH and Me are going on our "Once in a lifetime" trip to WDW in May. Now I am wondering how soon should we start planning out next trip? Next week? :rotfl:

When we went in 2000 I said 5 years and we would be back.

Well it took us 6, but there was a DL trip in the middle.

We returned from our Dec/Jan trip, we were home about a week and I mentioned at dinner that I thought we should go again the following year.

I got no opposition and within 2 weeks of our return I had the car rented and was searching out airfare for a year down the road.

I bought the airfare about 2 months ago and last week I reserved and paid for our rooms.

The hardest part about this upcoming trip is how far away it is. On our last visit I got the idea and booked it in the middle of the night at the end of August and we only had 4 months to wait, now we are at 9 months, AAhhhhhh

These boards and a new trip were a great way to fix the post vacation depression that I had bad upon our return.

My DSI wants to plan for us to all go to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and all that western stuff next year. How far away is DL from there?

I'm a hopeless Disney Park addict. I've spent 42 days at the parks within the past 11 months and live in Houston...not local to either park.

I also started a podcast as I record all my adventures in the parks in stereo sound. I spend 8 to 12 hours producing each show...they are, basically, audio trip reports. Listening to Disney Podcasts helps keep the addiction at bay and I am a huge supporter of them all as well as a show producer myself.

I look at it this way, it's a healthy addiction...there are worse things ;)

Check out my show...it will help get you by along with the awesome DISboards ;) Details below on the show.

My DD7 keeps asking when we're going back to WDW....I tell her "at least a few years", all the while trying to figure out how to get back sooner!

To Becky (who was thinking Columbus day in 2009....We did Columbus day 2005.....bigger crowds than I had hoped, We'll not go back on even a long weekend again! FL schools had time off too so that didn't help!

I have tabbed browsing on my computer browser (firefox), so essentially 8 start up screens.....one of them is the Dis, which I had thought I'd change after our trip.....well the trip was in October, and it's still here and one of the first places I go when I get on my computer in the morning (like now!). I'm glad to know I'm not the only one!

DH is looking for a new job....seems he's hooked too 'cause he keeps letting me know when he sees something good in FL.....he told me about one the ohter day and said "it's only about an hour to Orlando from there"!
:goodvibes

We went last September for my first ever WDW trip with all 5 kids. We also went on the assumption that we wouldn't be returning until the baby was about 5 or 6. Well, the baby (and less-than-enthusiastic DH) might not be going back until he's 5, but I just booked a Free Dining trip with the 2 oldest kids for Aug. and I plan on taking #3 and #4 together on their own special Mommy trip in a couple of years (OK, who am I kidding I'll probably be back with them next year!) I swore I would never be one of those people that plans all their vacations around Disney, but I'm hooked! I sometimes wonder if I'm addicted to the planning stage!!!

We had our "once in a lifetime" trip in 2004- land/cruise combo- ruined us to everything else. I'm with you on the "something in the Mickey Bars" theory- guess we'll have to test it again- going back in June 2006! Is it June yet??? :confused3

I am eagerly planning our Nov. 06 trip after waiting six years!!!! DH is not a Disney nut - I would happily live like a miser all year just to go on an annual basis. There just isn't any other place like WDW. I enjoy just sitting in the MK, soaking up the atmosphere. Okay, I am a Rock N Roll roller coaster junkie too - went on at least 12 times our last trip.DH can only take one big ride a day, but is an amazing good sport for sitting and waiting for me - yeah for Fastpass.

LMAO that's all i have to say!

And isn't it hard to explain to those people who just don't get it?? They wonder why you want to keep going back again and again??(I know, it's hard for me to understand but there are some people like that out there!!)

I've had some people kid me and wonder if Disney isn't putting something in the water...or perhaps subliminal messages piped thru the park sound systems...or no, wait, isn't that the Small World theme?(Must Return to Disney, Must Return to Disney, Must...

Sorry...something happened to me for a minute there. Next thing I knew I was checking flights on Travelocity...hee, hee!!

Also, about the "Once in a lifetime" deal...I had a 3rd grade student standing in a lunchline at a school where I substitute teach ask me when I got my WDW sweatshirt. After I told him it was a couple years ago he proceeded to tell me how lucky I was, and that my trip was really a "once in a lifetime" thing...I did not have the heart to tell him I've been there 2 more times since and plan to keep going until I can't walk anymore!!

We took our first trip to WDW in 2002 and it took 3 years for us to get back to the world. Before the most recent trip in 2005, the entire family, DS12, DD8, DH and myself were all having dreams about going back. Talk about addicted. After we got home from our trip in 2005, it only took us 2 weeks before we were planning our next trip. Can't wait to get back home. We love the mouse, and many friends and family members just don't get it. You either feel the magic or you don't! :bounce: :cheer2: :wizard:

We took 4 trips to wdw last year, and will go 4 times plus disney cruise this year!...

I thought by now I'd be disney'd out, but no! we are making a quick stop for the day sat, and the big trip in June, then oct.

there is no such thing as too many trips to disney!

This summer will be our 4th time, I just love the atmosphere there. There are always a few people there that get a little grumpy, but I think it's 'cause of the heat! It's just fun, fun, fun! :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

MAYBE THERE IS A SUPER SECRET DINSEY DEPARTMENT THAT HAS DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH ON HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES TO WORK AND THAT IS WHY THERE IS A CHEAPER THE MORE DAYS YOU STAY POLICY IN PLACE! :rolleyes2

Man it is so hard waiting. I'm a little over a year out and I CAN'T STAND IT.

I do get a little fix by reading these boards and also doing the pre-pre-planning. I am taking my parents for their first time so I am trying to find all the money savers and short cuts I can so we can spend more time in the parks. :hourglass

I know how everyone feels. We went in Feb 06 for the first time is 9 years and planned and planned. We had such a great time and leaving was very hard to do. I was sooooo bummed out when we left. Now I am planning when we can go back. hopefully Nov/Dec of 07 or Jan/Feb 08.
