I was over a friend's house last night and she showed me the disc with her son's senior photo proofs. He wore jeans, t-shirt with a button down shirt over it (sleeves rolled up) and a few photos he had a baseball hat on.

And then, my nephew wore two different outfits. Both had jeans but with one it was just a t-shirt and the other one was a button down shirt.

They both had several poses down, both inside and outside. And my SIL said that where her son goes to HS (same as my youngest) in order for your child's photo to be in the yearbook, it has to be done with a standard background. It couldn't be one of the outside shots.

What about your child? Could you choose out of all the shots for his yearbook photo?

For my son's school, they must choose either the tuxedo shot for the guys or the gown/drape shot for the girls for the yearbook picture.

My son was posed in the tuxedo, the cap and gown, and then he could wear up to three outfits for a "casual" shot. He wore one outfit in. His favorite jeans, purple henley shirt, and his favorite Nike shoes.

They took a casual head shot, half body shot, and full body shot.

I'm guessing my son is going to wear jeans, a t-shirt and a button down like mentioned. We've got to get going on pictures - we haven't even really thought about it yet.

My older son is pretty "academic" and wore jeans, a sweater vest, and in some shots, a leather jacket. He could choose any straight face shot for the yearbook, but the yearbook screwed up and didn't put in the picture or quote he turned in. He's in the yearbook with his ID picture and the default quote.

We aren't big picture people, so we just went to jc penney's for pictures to keep it inexpensive. It worked well last time, so ds #2 is planning to do the same. We took/will take their musical instruments, etc. for props.

Same for my kids school. The formal portrait when into the year book, then they took the cap and gown shot, and then they were allowed a fun shot. My son wore his baseball uniform, my daughter casual clothing surrounded by CD's.

We don't do the Tux or Draping pictures for the Yearbook. Guys wear a suit & tie, girls wear what they want for the yearbook. For the other pictures are causal alot people go to lake michigan for pics or parks most are done outside. some are done where they play sports.

We don't do senior portrait pictures so no stressing over that last year.

The yearbook at our kid's high school is Tux for guys and drape for girls.

DS wore jeans, tennis shoes, and a v neck t for his casual shots.

The photographer took the Tux pict, cap and gown pict and a few casual shots in the studio. We bought some of each for us grandparents and for the grad invitations.

We could have had an outdoor shoot and more wardrobe changes for more $.

wow-this must be different in different parts of the country-both my boys did a variety of poses -in jeans and letter jackets,in suit and tie, with musical insturments and sports equipment-i think we got 7 changes of clothes. We put letter jacket photos in the year book-one of my nephews was the same and my niece is a senior this year-she has one of the absolutely coolest photos ive ever seen from that session-but she also had several changes of clothing, skis, saxaphone and so on. Love my kids senior photos.

Nick wore mostly jeans and different shirts. The weekend of PROM he did another shoot wearing the tux he wore for Prom. (He has been doing side jobs for the photographer so our shoots are a little different in regards to outfits and such. He also does "modeling" for him and his wife when they want to try things with new angles, camera's, etc) He could pick almost any outfit/pose he wanted for yearbook and graduation. (They didn't even get their cap/gowns until a couple weeks before graduation) The big thing is pick stuff that shows his personality. We took several outfits and our photographer helped guide us. (Like I said he isn't your run of the mill type guy! He is awesome!!:goodvibes) Once the outfits are decided having fun and relaxing during the shoot will make for great pics!!

Eldest son had a tux shot back in '98. great picture... but not really Mike's personality altho his hair was totally spiked... very Mike. ;) In '05 younger son, had more choices, he did the tux and then he wore his favorite Hawaiian shirt .. he was born in Hawaii .. so it was his "thing" very Jake. ;)

At my DS's school, anything goes but no bare shoulders for yearbook pictures. I'm old fashioned, I made him wear shirt and tie. He did a wardrobe change but I didn't buy any of those!
