How are rccl shows better?

Not asking me but I love DCL and think Royal has better shows. More adult focused than for small children and full length broadway style productions of things like Mamma Mia or even the Back the the Future musical. They have outstanding dive shows and ice skating shows and real comedians (its been forever since I have seen a comedian on DCL and not a variety act style). The shows on the large Royal ships kill DCL IMO and I am saying this as someone who just got off two DCL cruises this month (and did 3 previously in 2025 with more booked)

Are dive and skating shows actually good though? They look very gimmicky. Never seen a good one on land. Are they better on RCCL then typical theme park diving and skating shows?

Sorry -- I was not comparing against DCL but against it's other competitors (Carnival, MSC, NCL, etc.). I've only been on Treasure so I can't compare the others but Treasure food/entertainment rivals the best of RCCL with RCL beating it only due to the diversity. RCCL best ships beat DCL hands down though. RCCL kids club is fantastic and yet DCL beats it by a large margin. The biggest issue (for me) with DCL is weaker itinerary, too many shorter trips, and $$$. 40-50% price increase is hard to justify for the non-huge Disney fans.

What are rcl best ships? Icon class or Oasis class or are you referring to both?

I thought they were very impressive but I don't see how shows like that are more or less gimmicky than a show about Goofy sailing the ship? To me seeing someone do a backflip on ice skates on a tiny rink and during a cruise with the ship's motion is simply impressive. The full length broadway productions are absolutely as good as any national tour of a broadway show I have seen.

Agreed. DCL entertainment is fantastic, but RCCL has a larger assortment of entertainment. Oasis/Icon class broadway shows are fantastic as well as the ice shows and the aquatic shows. I also really enjoyed the Spectra (

). It's crazy over the top.

Yes, IMHO.

Correct. Icon set the bar for other ships to catch given the layout, entertainment, activities, food/drink choices, etc.
