We are planning a trip for May 2017. We have been to Universal before but before we had a kid and I know there is so many "big kid" rides. We love harry potter and can't wait to see the new Diagon Alley. We were thinking of heading straight from the airport to Cabana Bay for 1 night and doing Universal that night and the next morning before we check into disney for a week. ...... anyways my questions is... what attractions or activities at Universal were good for your toddler (any trip reports would be great too!? TIA

Someone on a different thread asked about a 2 year old two so I'm copying and pasting some of what I wrote there. Don't forget the non-ride things like the little play area in the Dr. Suess area, Camp Jurassic Play area, Me Olive ship to play on, Jurrasic Discovery Center, Curious George Play area, Fieval play area, the shooting ball place near Curious George, the talking fountain, Animal Actors show, etc

I don't remember ride height restrictions as it's been a while. You would need to look on their website for that.

Do go to the trip report forums and read what others have done with littles at the park

Also there is a section that UO has on there website for families with littles

You can find it faster by googling it

Also use the search feature in this forum to pull up recent and past threads that discuss/share the parks with toddlers and under 5

We went last year when my son just turned 2 and ended up with the flu. Despite this, I think he enjoyed just the mere wonder of it all. He was under 36" at the time so wasn't able to ride much but he did enjoy borrowing his brothers wand and waving it at Harry Potter sections. For both Forbidden Journey and Gringotts he we were able to go through the queue (because we were doing child swap) and he seemed fascinated. There were some Dr. Suess rides he was able to ride, the Curious George area and Jurassic park areas. Of course getting a lollipop from HoneyDukes in Hogsmeads and fun snacks here and there kept him happy as well. At that age, ironically its not as much about the rides, i have learned. There is a lot of scenery to take in and experience. Luckily given he was sick he managed to get some nap time in his stroller as we walked around as well.

I think kidzone was his absolute favourite. He got soaking wet running through all the water sprayers.
