For your MENU Tasting What did you choose? I am so confused so many choices just interested to see what you did..

Well I know that things have changed since I had my Planning Session and tasting.

But we had the chef and Assistant Chef come see us with a personal waiter and we tasted:

4 canapes
2 soups
2 appetizers
2 intermezzo sorbets
3 entrees
2 different breads


followed by cake - I didn't taste dessert as we were just going to serve the cake.


I had chosen the dishes we wanted to try from our menu pack.

our tasting was at the yacht club with chef steve, us & claudine our em. for appetizers we tried potatoe & blueberry pierogis which were custom items on our prereception menu. we also tried crab cakes as an appetizer & the canadian bacon cheddar soup from le cellier which we had to have for our reception, le cellier is one of our favorite restaurants. for salad we tried the ceasar with a garlic & vinegrete dressing. for the intermezzo we had chicken scampi with angel hair in a garlic creme sauce which was a custom item to our reception menu. for the entree we tried the beef tenderloin & grilled salmon along with our white truffle mashed potatoes, carrots & asparagus, so yummy. for dessert we tried the tiramisu in the chocolate cup which my hubby had decided on instead of a grooms cake. in the end we had the tiramisu on the plate along with our sliced wedding cake. the wedding cake flavors & fillings we tried back at francks. disneys food is so good!

 _Seared-beef filet paired with Chicken Breast and Blackberry Demi
Dessert
 _Chocolate Cake w/ butter cream & Cinderella Slipper
 _Vanilla Cake w/ white chocolate mousse & Cheesecake

No Tastings do and should not cost extra.
There have been instances where if you were having a reception say at The california Grill you don't get a tasting and instead the FTW dept will tell you to go and eat there for a meal at your own cost, this to me is ludicrous and I don't often have a bad word to say about DFTW, because if you are having a brunch there then the food that they serve for that event is not always available on the usual dinner menu, you know.

Anyway I have also read that some Planners do not encourage tasting, again i don't understand this because whenever I have booked parties in hotels here in London in the past I have always been given an opporuntity to sample some of the food.

Now for what we tasted - this was from the YC and you will find that depending on where your event is the menus will differ:

Duck quesedilla
Crab cakes
A pork canapé – we had it and I can’t for the life of me remember what it was
California Rolls

Lobster cake
Ceasar salad
Something else but I can’t remember LOL

2 filet dishes, one with the cabernet reduction and cheese and proscuitto and another that was more plain
1 chicken dish with the cherry and another with the mushrooms

Baked potato soup
Clam chowder

Raspberry sorbet and a tropical sorbet

Onion rolls – I requested these from the Yachtsman steakhouse
Normal rolls
