I dont have any extra ideas on what to leave at home. But I will tell you the less you are hauling weight wise in the car the better your gas mileage will be. I am always amazed when we take an over night trip with just one bag with everyones stuff in it versus when we go on a trip with a bag for everyone. The difference in the gas mileage is AMAZING.
