Interesting. My dad was definitely not hippy-dippy, but we had a giant canvas tent (big family!) We never drove more than a couple of hours though, and stayed put for a week in a state park. The only vacations I had as a kid, and I did enjoy them.I hated long car trips. My hippy-dippy dad would pack the giant, canvas tent, we’d drive hours and hours, stop, set up tent, sleep, take down tent, drive for hours … repeat. Now when I travel, no tent EVER, and I stay in one hotel the entire trip (and I fly)

A Junior and my 2 best friends in the neighborhood were seniors. We had a friend who worked in the attendance office. We would walk to the bus stop... and walk on by down to Mark's house who lived with his dad, always gone for work before he was. We planned to walk to school late around lunch time. Every single time he would put Ferris Bueller on the Betamax. We never made it to school.School. Ferris Bueller was my hero!
