What did you REALLY think...

DH did it once and that was it for him. He says never again. I didn't like having to get up in the middle of my meal and shlep 100 bottles of Ketchup across the dining room. That sucked. It's loud too. The food was just ok. I didn't eat anything but soup 'cause I was still full from lunch earlier in the day. The soup was good though. DH got the skillet. We love the WL and I really hate that we can't eat there more than we do. AP is good but we can only afford to eat there once or twice during a stay. Roaring Fork is good too (burgers) but we don't want to eat there for every meal, ya know?

We ate there in August as part of a tour. The family-style skillet was much better then we expected. I don't like the jokes but I am kind of shy etc. It is fun watching the people who seem to enjoy it. We do plan to return.

We dislike WCC for lunch or dinner, but breakfast is pretty good. I figure the reason is we're not shrimp lovers and inevitably someone at the table has to get it, makes everyone try it and then it gets difficult to keep our food down :rotfl:

breakfast though... :thumbsup2

We did it for the 2nd time in August and I wouldn't bother again. The food was OK but we had a nice but not particularly fun server....I had hoped that we'd get one of the fun ones....we've never gotten a fun server at 50's Primetime, either:(. I think the food at Boatwright's at POR is better and there's no disappointment in not having a fun server since that isn't part of the experience there.

We love WCC. It's a must for us if we're staying at WL or off property. The food is good, and we get a kick out of the "SHOW".

Thanks for all of the posts! I wasn't really expecting to get so many. It is so interesting to me that it seems to be kind of a love or hate it kind of place.

I have reservations for our arrival day (dinner). We are staying at the Lodge, and I kind of felt like we should check it out. I think I'll keep our ressies-we have a lot of character meals during the rest of the week (+Ohanas which will also be new to us.)

We don't seem to be TOO picky about our food. We liked most of our meals when we went in 2007 (CRT, Playhouse Disney Hollywood and Vine, Crystal Palace, Princess meal in Norway, Boma for dinner and breakfast, and Restrauntosaurus Breakfast at AK.) Actually, Norway's dinner was our least favorite, and my husband didn't like Boma (but I did.)

We are repeating CRT, Crystal Palace, and Hollywood and Vine this time, and adding Tusker House breakfast, Ohana, WCC, Chef Mickey's breakfast, and Garden Grill. Any other opinions???

This is one of our dd's favorite restaurants. We've done it our past two trips. The food is very good and it is a lot of fun. They don't necessarily pick on you. We had an awesome waitress this trip, but she didn't do any of the crazy antics. That was fine with the girls they had seen them before and they thought it was fun to watch the other tables. Enjoy yourselves!!

We also ate at Ohana's and we enjoyed it. It's not a do again place for us, but it was definitely worth the trip. The pork dumplings are awesome!!

How was Playhouse Disney Hollywood and Vine???? I have to say that Norway was our LEAST favorite restaurant as well.

We went to WCC on our arrival evening last trip, and everyone aggreed that had to be a new family tradition, so we will be there the end of next week on our arrival evening again. We enjoyed the food and loved the antics. We can't wait to go back!!! Hedda Lettuce was our server and the kids still talk about her 2 years later. She was great, actually I came across her on DIS a while ago and plan to request her as our server again.
The way I see it, everone likes different things, you have to experience it for yourself and see what you think.

We enjoyed Hollywood and Vine. I know a lot of people don't like it, but we thought it was pretty good. All buffets are a little difficult when you have little ones. I usually go get food for the kids and then my husband goes while I cut things up and get everyone settled. However, even with the difficulties, buffets also work well for us because one of my daughters is kind of picky and the other two like to eat everything. It is good to have lots of choices!

Last time we went my daughters were 5, 4, and 7 months, so the older two were into the Playhouse Disney characters a bit more than they are now. But, since my youngest is now 2 1/2 she loves Playhouse Disney. In fact, her name is Johanna, but we often call her JoJo-Can't wait for her to meet JoJo and Goliath. My older 2 are very good with their little sister, so they'll enjoy the characters, too, just because she will be so excited.

If you have little ones that like Playhouse Disney, I say it is a good meal. Besides the characters, the music will be VERY familiar.

I agree, but I also love to hear what everyone else thinks! I hope you enjoy your meal next week.

WC will be our arrival night meal, too. I think the only thing I am worried about right now is my picky DD-I hope I can find something for her to eat!popcorn:: <----She loves popcorn, maybe I should bring a bag. :rotfl:

Me, too. I love to read reviews. I just always worry when I see people who hate a place we love and think I hope they don't turn people off from trying when everyone's tastes are different. So often I hear bad reviews for places we like, so just a reminder for everyone to read, read, read, but in the end try what sounds good to you. Hope I didn't offend...

NOT AT ALL! I was just agreeing. As you can see I am relatively new to DIS (well at least to posting-I lurked for awhile first.) I was just trying to make conversation, keep the thread going, and get in a few more posts as I am still Earning My Ears.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. I think we'll like WCC. I don't really know why I am not so excited about going there. The rest of my family is!

(Maybe it's because I'd really like to go to Kona, but we are already going to Ohana and I didn't want to push my luck with two meals at the Poly since we are staying at Wilderness Lodge.)

We are trying Kona for the first time, we will be there a week from Sunday. I am excited about it, I hope it is good. We like to do a mix of family favorites and new places. This trip we have
WCC
Kona (new)
50s PT
Cali Grill (Just DH and I---new)
Chef Mickey's Thanksgiving Dinner
CRT
LeCellier (new)
Akerhaus (new)
Chef Mickey's Breakfast

So we are very excited!!!

Have a great time!!!

After 5 stays at WL, we finally tried WCC last April. It was okay. I mean, we got a ton of food and it was tasty, but it was a very heavy meal. My girls (4 & 6) had the dirt pudding for dessert and said it was "yucky."

Our ADR was one of the first times available for dinner, but they tried to stick us way back in the library section (right next to the DVC booth!). I mean, they had us walk through the entire empty main dining room to the library. We requested another table closer to the action (since this is one of the main reasons to book at WCC) and after some heavy sighs and miscommunications, we were eventually moved to the main dining area. After that, it was just okay. Our server seemed less than thrilled with her job.

I might go back during another stay at WL, but it is not a must do for us.

We ate here once and although it was fine, we did not love the seasoning on the food. My kids thought it was fun. I don't think we would go back as there are so many other places we want to try.
