Yes it is me again with another room service question. Can ya'll tell I am excited about my upcoming cruise ? :D

Anyway, I am just wondering about what you ordered from room service and how was it ? I have seen the menu and most of it sounds okay but I would love to have some reviews if anyone is willing to share :) Did you have anything that was really delicious or really terrible ? Or was everything just okay and nothing very special ?

We didn't order meals from room service, but the one thing we make sure to do on every cruise, every evening is order cookies and/or other goodies at midnight for a midnight snack. This was especially excellent the cruise we were upgraded to a verandah on. By the way, the cookies are yummy!

We ordered an afternoon snack one day: The double decker PBJ was good. The cheese plate was excellent.

We ordered continental breakfast almost every morning. The toast arrived hot, the milk for the cereal was cold, and DH liked the donuts!

You can't go wrong.

We ordered the TUNA fish sandwich. Sounds dull, but their tuna fish is THE GREATEST I've EVER had... I'm not a "tuna" person, but my hubby got it one night, andf we ordered them EVERY night after that. 3 Layers of bread with Tuna and romaine lettuce between the layers! And I don't know what they put in it to make it so good, but I've never had tuna that good! Sorry we didn't order anything more exciting to tell you about, but we literally tell everyone about it if it comes up, it was that good. And my daughter LOVED their PB& J sandwiches. Same thing, 3 layers of bread and with grape jelly. All come with fries and cole slaw, too. (cole slaw was dull..) And their chicken strips- YUM.

We ordered the cheese and cracker tray almost every evening and snacked on it while we were getting ready for dinner (we took on our own Beer/wine and it went great together). The chicken fingers were very good also, but the cheese and cracker tray was a great before-dinner-treat. We found the dinner portions to be kind of on the small side compared to other cruise lines we have been on and we were never too full having ordered the tray in our room before our dinner. On several nights, we also got 2 appetizers each because we couldn't decide which one to get. Most people did the same.

the international cheese and fruit tray is not to be missed. It was excellent, especially the blue cheese!

The one thing that comes to mind is the chili that came in a tortilla shell with all the fixings. It was very good.

My responses are pretty dull having only ordered coffee and bagels but the coffee was good and the bagels were hot. Also, since I was never good enough to put the sign on the door the night before I always called in the morning and it was very quick arriving - 10 to 15 minutes at the most.

I have also had the cookies and they are yummy!

We ordered breakfast four mornings - left the card out the night before and it was always right on time. Cereal, fruit, muffins, toast, coffee, tea, milk. Basic "continental", but so much more special enjoying that cup of tea on the verandah!

Went to the character breakfast (only time I would say the food was poor on the whole cruise. We should have ordered room service first, then went just to see the "show"!) and one morning to Lumiere's. That was extremely slow and the food just ok. Only went to Lumiere's once for lunch - that was a much more pleasant experience and wish we had done that another time!

It was great to have room service "included" in your package - just remember gratituity is not included.

Happy cruising!

Well, on the sunday of the seven night cruise, my daughter decided to take a four hour nap in the middle of the day - I think she was worn out from excitement and maybe a touch of seasickness.

I ordered the tomato soup, the cheese plate, a hot dog platter w/fries and three cookies. The hot dog was for her in case she woke up starving. The soup, cheese plate and cookies were delicious. She slept longer than I thought she would and I ate half the hot dog too - I should mention here that I had been sick the night before and was starving.

So aside from the cookies and cheese plate, I can recommend the tomato soup. The hot dog was pretty good too but it's hard to ruin a hot dog. It was so nice hanging out in my cabin by myself, except for the snoring seven year old - very relaxing - while the rest of the family was out doing their own thing.

A quick aside about the cookies on the Magic - I don't have a major sweet tooth, but I have NEVER tasted cookies as wonderful as the ones on the Magic! Bring a few back to your cabin if you walk through Topsiders!! They make for a great snack!:D

While we're on the subject, how long does it take to get an order from room service?

I LOVED the cheese platter- I ordered one every night before I went to bed- it has something like 5 or 6 different cheeses, grapes and crackers. I didn't care for the chili but I am not big on spicy food and this was a little spicy for me. DD loved the chicken tenders- the salad is very good- My DH ordered some sandwiches but I don't remember what he ordered- he liked it all though!

It is such a novelty to order from room service- normally it is just so expensive- so that in its self makes everything great.
The same goes with the child's menu on the cruise- it has appetizers for the kids to choose along with their entree and desert. The first time we ever cruised- DD was 7. When we were on our way home- we stopped at McDonalds and she asked me what she should order for her appetizer! I had to explain to her that we were now back in the real world- don't ya just hate leaving Disney!

We used room service a lot while on our 7 day cruise just two weeks ago. All of it was good, but I especially remember ordering the grilled cheese sandwich. It arrived very quickly, and to my amazement was very hot. It was delicious (and the fries were good also.) My son always wanted the pb&j or the hot dog. All were good. One day I was very ill with a stomach bug (yuck.) By about 10pm that night I was hungry, but too scared for the typical fare. I asked if I could have a toasted bagel, and they were more than willing to help me. They even sent a variety of fixins' (butter, cream cheese, jelly, and peanut butter.) This was a wonderful treat. I miss being on the ship so much.

Ahhhhh... room service... I tell you what, for a good 3 weeks after our cruise, I kept looking for that "in-stateroom dining" button on my phone here at home! Darn thing doesn't seem to have one. ;)

We ordered breakfast the night before pretty much every day. I liked how every day, the pastries and danishes were different. And I can't tell you how many times DS and I ordered chicken strips -- those are the best chicken strips EVER!! And everything everyone has said about the cookies was true. Even though it just says chocolate-chip cookies on the menu, I decided to ask one day if they also had those amazing oatmeal-raisin cookies, and of course the answer was "no problem." :)

Okay, I have to go get something to wipe the drool off my keyboard now... ;)

We ordered a grilled cheese (on the menu it was ham and cheese) but we asked for only the cheese. It was very good. In the mornings we would order bagel and cream cheese, coffee and juice to eat on the verandah. Heaven!!

Wow! Thanks for all of the reviews everybody :D

Room service sounds great and I am sure we will take advantage of it since we will have a verandah.

It seems that the CM's are very good regarding special requests which is good because I can't eat chocolate due to migranes so hopefully they can get me some oatmeal-raisin cookies too :)

callahanjulie10 - that is so cute about your daughter wondering about which appetizer to get at McDonalds :) I am sure we will have to be "reprogrammed" too after we get off the cruise.

Debs Hill - the room service menu I use is located on Barb's Disney Cruise website called www.castawayclub.com

We called down several times and had milk and chocolate chip cookies delivered...they are awsome ...like Mrs. Feilds!
