Hi

I've got a few questions about meals for vendors....

I'm just wondering what others have done with regards to offering your videographer/photographer a meal at the reception?

I know there is an option for a vendor meal but where do they eat this?

Do you give them a space at a table?

Whats the difference between a vendor meal and a regular meal?

Will it actually make a difference since our meal is a buffet?

We have already invited the Rev to our meal as this is the done thing in the Uk and we think it is a nice gesture, we are also thinking of asking our videographers and photographer to be part of our meal,

I mean they are going to be there from before the start right the way through to the bitter end so we need to keep them happy right ? :rotfl:

what did you do???

Us photographers work really hard, and we are grateful for food!! I don't know about in Disney, but I get fed at every wedding I photograph.

OMG, I just typed my whole post and it got deleted....

Round two:

You should definitely feed your vendors. Like you said they will be there for a long time and it will make them work harder for you.

You can give them deli plates with sandwiches or let them eat off of the buffet. I think it is a reduced cost to let them eat off the buffet but I am not sure.

We offered ours the same plated meal as our guests minus the sorbet and slipper dessert and they were very thankful and said some brides never even feed them.

Our vendors sat at one of our tables. On the BEO they were scheduled to eat on the patio but I didn't want to kick them to the curb and then they would miss things. They just got up if they saw something and took a photo and then went back and took some bites etc.

I also told them to help themselves from the concierge lounge while we were getting ready, to eat at the cocktail hour, and to make sure to get drinks from the bar (non alcoholic of course even though I do think our photographer had a rum and coke LOL!!!)

I have heard of some brides offering children's meals for the vendors, like chicken tenders and french fries because it is easier to eat etc. If I recall you have a small guest list so I think it will work out well. Where is your reception? That would depend on where they will eat.

I am feeding my videographer and two photographers. My BEO says "Chef's Choice Vendor Meal" and its $13.95 for each vendor. It doesn't say what the meal is though but it appears to be a plated meal.

We've invited out photographer to join us for lunch as a guest, not as a vendor. WE are having lunch then going to a resort to have some photos taken so I offered to pay for all of his time (including the lunch time) but asked him not to work over lunch.

It's important to us that everyone involved shares our day and I don't want anyone to feel like a 'hired hand'.

i know we paid for vendor meals...but i dont know if they ate! lol....hmmm..i should ask them! lol I know they sat down for a little while, i hope they got food!!

Misty and her husband had a vendor meal. Stan declined.

I just sent them an email mail and asked them if they would want the meal. Because of our small group they didn't join us at the table, I didn't really want that, they stayed outside with the planners when we ate but popped in every so often. I did say to them at the dessert party to help themselves if they wanted anything.

We fed our vendors as well, however, they were all non Disney photo/video (pre policy change). I think if you have Disney you may not need to feed them?

Thanks for the replies,

Its not a case that I wasn't sure wether to feed them, we most definatly will give them food, I would feel terrible if I didn't

It was just that I wasn't sure what exactly the difference was between a vendor meal and a regular meal? especially with the fact that we are having a buffet??

I also wanted to know if it wasn't too weird to have them sit at a table beside our guests?

HAHA oh I thought your title said did you feed your photographer/videographer. Sorry LOL.

At our at home reception we had buffet so our DJ just grabbed a plate and a chair and ate by his equipment. I don't think they would sit with a guest at a table.

Every wedding I have gone to they just find a spot off to the side and eat, i never saw them sit at a guests table.

My husband is a photographer and we are usually fed at the longer weddings (usually evening weddings). most of the time the wedding planner will have a vendor table that is located in the most unobtrusive/out of the way location. Which is good? I always feel a little conscious eating at the wedding anyway. To me it is more important to have a bottle of water available to stay hydrated.
