We have been married for 7 months, and already the giant box with my wedding dress in it is driving me crazy! I could use that closet space for something else. ;) I really don't have any intention of saving it for a daughter or anyone else, but I don't know what else to do with it. I've been looking for other fun things to do with it and I've thought about making pillows or handkerchiefs, but I'm just not sure. Here is a picture of my dress:

(I feel bad cutting my DH out, however he doesn't like being posted)

What did you do (or what are you planning on doing) with your dress? Any ideas are appreciated! :goodvibes

My dress didn't need to be altered at all so it just got a bustle put in... I plan on selling it on eBay or another wedding resale site.

I am thinking of selling mine too.

I had it cut up and made into a Christening gown for my baby. It made the gown extra special and gave it more meaning.

Otherwise, I would have just sold it or given it away. I liked giving it another "life". :bride:

You could have it made into a short dress and dyed a fun color - something that you'd get to wear more often! (And you could make pillows or other little keepsake with the part that gets cut off!)

I will be married 12 years next week and I still have not done this but the plan is a special family quilt.

use wedding dress for a square or two
baptism dress
baptism suit
baby's first outfit
of course we will need to use some of dd's ariel t-shirts as that has been a 3 year love of hers etc

After wearing mine all day through wedding, reception, and dessert party - mine is filthy! I've planned a trash the dress shoot up here with a friend who is a professional photographer. I'm crazy enough to do anything, so the pictures will be fun! Will post when done :thumbsup2

I thought about making a shorter dress also - something I could wear to an anniversary dinner - but my dress is so lace-y that I don't think it would ever not look like a wedding dress.
