I think a disney wedding is the most magical way to start a life together. But isn't it expensive??? I have a large family... average wedding attendance close to home would be 250-300 people (more money than i want to spend for a wedding with family i barely see) I have tossed around the idea of a destination wedding with only close family... mother father brother sister niece/nephew and the same for the groom... which would be about 20 people 5-6 individual families.

What is an approximate cost of a disney wedding??

I would only feel right by paying the guests way hotel, park passes, dinner for 4-5 days (I am not wealthy by no means... but i do have more disposible income than my immediate family members)

Im not sure of the exact pricing for an intimate wedding, which i believe is 20 people and under (including the bride and groom), but I think it starts around 3K. If you go over 20 people you qualify for the custom wedding which has a minimum of *I think* 10K. It used to be 7,500, but I think it might have gone up. Also, depending on the day you get married; Monday vs. Saturday, determines the minimum.

The cost of a disney wedding as you can see varies greatly depending on the day of the week, time of day, guest count, and location. You say you want to pay for the 20 guests accommodations, etc. By doing that will increase the cost a lot. Buying basically 20 guests trips is not inexpensive.

There are several posts on this board with exact pricing. If you do a search you should be able to find some!

I HTH, good luck!

Well, Disney weddings can be done beautifully on small or on large budgets. However, I will warn you that it would add a ton to the cost if you cover your guests hotel, tickets, food, etc. for all those days. That would add up very quickly! If you paid for all that with a guest list of 50, plus had your wedding and reception, I would guess that it would cost at least $50,000. The biggest cost would actually be the accomodations, food, etc. for your guests as opposed to the wedding costs.

My situation is a bit similar. I live in Westchester County, NY and only liked 2 venues around me, one in Manhattan and one right outside of it.. Our guest list is now in the upper 200's and the thought of spending at least 200/pp for about 280 people killed me. My father turns the most awful shades of white when he thinks about it hehe.. My parents are generously paying for the Disney wedding but my parents were so disappointed that not a large number of people would attend (we are inviting about 200 to Disney and hoping to get around 100) that we have decided to put 15k of our own money towards throwing a dessert & champagne party in the New York Public Library so that my parents have the best of both worlds and can celebrate with those who can make it to Disney and those who cannot. Perhaps your family can do something similar, only in your case an intimate wedding in Disney and then a larger party where you are from :)

Well, you could always pay for part of their trip costs. For example, you could cover, say, hotel for 3 nights for the 5 families. That can get costly, but if you go during value season & are able to get a discount code, you could get them a room at a value resort for $59/night (that's what I've seen advertised with the current codes).

After that, it could be up to them to decide whether they want park passes. There are lots of things they can do at WDW without park passes, especially if you have wedding events. You could provide them with an itinerary that lists ideas of non-park things to do there.

If you do a rehearsal dinner at one of the buffet places, you will be able to keep costs at a minimum, and you'll have provided 2 meals then: the reception dinner & the rehearsal dinner. They could eat counter service for their other meals if they were worried about keeping costs down.

Cheers!

Intimate prices depend on the location that you choose. If you would like an outside ceremony (Sunset Pointe at the Poly, Seabreeze Point at the Boardwalk, or the Yacht Club Gazebo) the price for the package is $2450.

If you would like an indoor ceremony (Disney's Wedding Pavilion) the package price is $3350.

the new prices for intimates are $2750 to $3850. im not sure about the second number, but you can check it out on the disney weddings wishbook. if you wanted to take care of everyone's meals, you could buy them all dining plans. that way their meals will be provided for without having to meet up as a group for every meal. the dining plan covers restuarants in the parks as well as resorts. if you want to cover thier stay, going with disney value resorts is the cheapest way to stay on disney property, but i recommend looking into resorts in the disney area. i have not had good experiences at value or moderate resorts at disney. ive gotten much more for about the same prices as the cheapest disney hotels by staying off property. i was just emailed an offer for disney visa holders for 5 night stays with tickets from $355 or something like that. theres constantly offers like that, you just have to look for them.

You are not required to pay for guests accomodations and I wouldn't unless it was for my parents or something... that will break the bank.. if they want to share in the day they will find a way. Just give plenty of advance notice and everyone will have enough time to save and make arrangements.

If you want to pay for your guests...the easiest thing might be to invest in the dining plan ($37.99 per adult and 11.99 per kid ) and then use one of the dinners as your reception--Ohanas is a popular choice...just my thoughts.

Adult Dining plan for 4 days is $160 plus a 4 day pass is $55 approx so your looking at $215 per adult.
For kids its $80pp dining plan and $45pp for the tickets so thats $125 per child.
So working it out if you had say 15 Adults and 5 Children the dining plan and tickets would come to - $3850

Then you would need to add on the room - if you stayed at a value i would guess at around $100 a night - $400 per room for 4 nights.

Based on 10 rooms that would be $4000 - added to the Dining Plan and Tickets i would say the minimum your looking at is

Based on $7850 for your guests.
Then add on the wedding - if there was only you and 18 guests you could get away with an intimate for $3300 plus other bits and pieces.

Otherwise is a $10k minimum for a monday - thursday wedding.

I think the pass prices are a little off.

A one day base ticket is $71.
Adult 4 day base ticket is $215.13
Child's 4 day base ticket is $178.92.
