What did POLY lagoon view mean to you?

My parents had a pin code attached to their name that will allow us to stay at the POLY with a lagoon view for only $150.00 more total than it would for a garden/parking lot view. I'm just curious if you all feel it is worth it? Thanks!

$150 more for the entire trip? I'd say it's definitely worth it if they have even the slightest interest in being able to view the fireworks from their room, and then watch the castle change colors all night long, from their room

EDITED TO ADD: I just remembered that "lagoon view" no longer means "Magic Kingdom view", so they may not necessarily have a view of the castle. Sorry! However, seeing the lagoon is wonderful, so I think for $150 extra for the entire trip, would still be worth it. But if that extra $150 would be difficult for your family to swing, then maybe not.

Sounds like a good deal to me. How many nights are you staying? I would figure out the per night difference and decide from there.

This is a very good question - and I don't want to end up with one if they do when we go next month. On the other hand, we want to be close to the GCH. Right now, my building prefs. on my reservation are Samoa, Raratonga, and Niue, in that order. I know Raratonga is the only one of those 3 where I could end up with a parking lot view, and Nuie used to be a smoking building (even though I smoke, I totally hate hotel rooms that smell like smoke), but I had to have back-ups for Samoa -- since that seems to be a very popular building.

Anyone have any opinions on those 3 buildings? Thanks!

So they really do have rooms with parking lot views at the Poly??? I would be pretty disappointed if I shelled out that much money for a view of asphalt.

I really wish that Disney would designate the class and rate between standard/garden/pool/water views....IMHO, its only fair to the customer...especially with the prices they charge.

From only *some* rooms in *some* buildings in the "garden view" category will you possibly see some cars off in the distance, beyond the grass, palm trees, bushes, and flowers. You won't see the asphalt they're parked on because it's too far away. This is different than the "parking lot views" at the moderates and values because at those resorts, you're literally looking right at the parking lot itself and can see the lines on the ground, and in some cases your room is just a couple of feet from the cars.
