What did I do????

ugh! my volleyball team sucks! i am the most "experienced" player on the team so i know my stuff. i work my as* off in games just so we have a chance. there are some girls who miss EVERY serve, screw up every ball they touch, but yet when i screw up, i get scollded(sp?) at. it pisses me off bcuz i try sooooooooooooooooo hard so we can win yet when i do something that loses a point, i am the most hated person. i have missed maybe 5 out of 45-50 serves this whole season. and i have made like less than 10 mistakes to lose us a point. i try and try and try my damn hardest so we dont get humiliated, and i feel that i humiliate myself....for trying. our season is over after tomorrow. so, i wanna ask you this question.........

Did I do the right thing this season? Working my butt off so we could win?

Sure you did. It's probably just a case of you being expected to always do well, while expectations for the others is rather low - whenever they mess up, it's unsurprising and and nothing new. Yet when you mess up, it's totally unexpected.

Don't let it get to you. Just.. look forward to next season.

You didn't do anything wrong, work your butt off, you will get rewarded. But try to look at it with a positive attitude, try to have fun. When they do something right, give them kudos, it will motivate them. Giving them bad attitude won't make them want to work any harder.
But trust me, everyone screws up a serve or a pass once and while.

thanks! i try to be positive but then something turns it into a negative. i try to help the girls when they screw up. most of them take my advice, but a few of them........it goes in one ear, and out the other! lol. yeah i know we all screw up once in a while but..............i just get really mad bcuz i am used to not screwing up a lot...........*deeply sighs*. VOLLEYBALL! if i didnt love the sport so much, i'd quit. but i love it!

(o and about being positive.........in our tournament, there are teams WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than us. my dad(assisstant coach) was like just be positive! i was like "ok! i am positive we are gonna get killed! and he was like, i dont mean that way! )

Oh yes, 'tis very good that you do try to encourage/help them. I've played soccer for about 6 years, and I've never been good at it. I know what it's like to be on the other end of your situation. Thankfully, I've never been very competitive, so constant losing doesn't bother me much.

we lost our final tournament today. the first game was 25-20(us ), second was 17-25(them ), and the third 12-15(sadly them ). the first game, we actually played as a team! did i just say that? but yeah, we did AWESOME! but then we fell apart in the next two.
