What determines if you get your requests?

How and what determines if someone gets their requests for room locations etc???

Is it simply the first ones who book get it first, or is it whoever shows up earliest on check in days???? (This seems unfair......some have to travel way, way longer and hence get in later.)

It's a complicated puzzle. Rooms are assigned several days ahead of time but are subject to change up until the moment you check in.

A lot is going to depend on the guests who are already occupying rooms. You might not get your room requests because all the rooms that fit that category are taken by people who arrived in the days prior to your trip.

You might be assigned a certain room but someone who arrives earlier gets moved because of a problem with their room.

Did someone have just one request and they can easily be slotted into a room or do they have 5 requests and there are only 5 rooms that work.

There are really a lot of variables.

there is a list of priorities in requests. if you meet certain requirements, your assigned room can be blocked so nobody else can take it. other than that, checking in earlier is the only real way because a CM at check-in can take any other room that's available, even if it had been assigned to someone else.

I feel your pain coming from Canada also - sometimes the best we can do with flights and so on .. is to arrive at 6pm.

So.. what I have planned for an upcoming trip.. is to arrive at the major airport of departure for the final leg of my flight to Orlando the night BEFORE my flight to Orlando and schedule an early morning flight (6am) which gets me into Orlando at 10:49am.

It's a decent work around. I did this for other reasons.. but it should help you in your situation.

What is your request? If it's something simple like non smoking third floor room, that should be OK. But if it's something like non smoking third floor, on a corner, far way from the elevator but close to the food court, in X building, this range of rooms, then it might not be possible. The simpler the request, the easier to get what you want.

I managed a good flight out of Bangor Maine. Leave at 5:45am and arrive at 11:45am. This at just 208.00 return!!! I hate late night arrivals!

You are lucky!

We leave at 0630, and transfer in TO, then get to Orlando at 1:15.

Early and long day.

We leave PDX @ 615am and arrive in Orlando @ 420pm. Coast to Coast. We have done this 3 times and when I have made requests (non-smoking, connecting, building) I have gotten my request. I hope it works again but you never know.

Assuming your 1:15pm arrival is at the airport and including 90 minutes (worst case) for DME, you should be at your resort by 3pm.

For a non-smoking, specific building request.. you should be FINE.
