~What Desserts Are You Making For Thanksgiving~?

Mmm - they all sound great! I'd love to see the recipe for the lemon buttermilk & the apple cranberry pies. Any chance you would post them over on the Recipe board?

We go to my sister's & usually have pumpkin & mincemeat pies, but this year it will just be pumpkin. I can take it or leave it, so it will just be easier to skip dessert altogether.

pumpkin praline dessert (betty crocker), pumpkin raisin cookies with cream cheese frosting and probably either sugar or cc cookies

Pumpkin Pie
Pecan Pie
Turtle Cheesecake
Death by Chocolate Bundt Cake

I am making a pumpkin ice cream pie.
My sister is bringing 2 pumpkin pies.
My aunt is bringing a cranberry/cherry cheese pie.

I dont like pie so I am bringing a carrot cake for dessert to my cousins house and also a spinach artichoke dip.

I don't like pie either...but DH does.
I'm bringing brownies and oatmeal chocochip cookies to my mom's house...and I think she's making a sour cream coffee cake (my favorite) and Mrs. Smith will supply an apple and pumpkin pie.

Our new DIL is hosting Thanksgivng this year. ::yes:: We're hoping, having family around will pick up her spirits as her DH (our son) is in Iraq. Each family invited has volunteered to bring 2 sides dishes, plus a dessert. DIL is making pumpkin pie and Black Forest Trifle, daughter 1 is bringing her delicious chocolate eclair dessert, daughter 2 is bringing her pumpkin pie cheesecake, and I took the easy route...LOL, and am making a pineapple upside down cake. Didn't want son to be left out, so we sent him peanutbutter brownies, turkey jerky an some other goodies.

We were advised:
'no dieting and to wear our stretch pants'...LOL!!!

 Sandie

Cheescake and frosted shortbread cookies from scratch. Probably some chocolate cupcakes to go along with that.

My MIL is bringing a pineapple upside down cake which is DH's favorite and I thought about making another dessert but honestly I don't think I want that many sweets sitting around the house all weekend just for the 3 of us.

I am making my Mom's fruit salad and it can serve as a dessert especially when you add a little whipped cream. Yummy! :)

I'm baking 2 pumpkin pies
purchasing 2 chocolate cream pies
baking (from scratch) a WW pumpkin cheesecake

I've got to make somethimng to bring to the dinner I'm going to. The kids like Pillsbury Chocolate chip cookies, so I may just make that. They're quick and easy.:D

Pumpkin pies, apple pies (both from scratch).... and my mom and I always make no-bake homemade butter mints. The family loves them!

PAW, is this like Lemon Meringue pie?
Sort of...Lemon Buttermilk Pie has buttermilk, flour, eggs, lemon juice and zest in the base, you top the cooled pie with strawberries that were marinaded in a honey- lime juice sauce. It's awesome....you can top it with a dollop of whipped cream if you like, but I prefer it as is.

Chocolate cream pie- my maternal Grandmother's recipe. I never knew her (was 4 when she passed), but I feel like I did through her recipes!!
