Pie or Cake? You thought I would ask for recipes or flavors right? lol :teeth:

Okay, tell me what flavor pie or cake to bring!!!

**Just wanted to add that I am not making it. I will be purchasing this from a bakery. Too many exams and projects that week to worry about cooking! :)

I don't think I've ever had cake for T'giving...unless you count cheesecake! LOL

I'm not sure you could get this where you are, but my favorite is Pecan Cheese pie! Not nearly as sweet as regular pecan pie & it has a layer of cheese custard under the pecans & goo. Absolutely divine! :teeth:

If you can't get that...Pumpkin isn't my favorite, so I'd vote for mincement first or cherry second.

I'm used to having pies on Thanksgiving, but I wouldn't turn down a cake. ;) We always have several different kinds of pie. I don't like pumpkin, but everyone else in my family does. My favorite is cherry and my cousin always has to have blueberry. My brother usually makes some kind of chocolate mousse pie too. The funny thing is no one is ever hungry enough to enjoy the pies after eating all the turkey and side dishes.

My mom always makes a pumpkin/cheesecake pie for Thanksgiving that is absolutely wonderful...graham cracker base, some kind of cheesecake-type middle (but not as heavy) and a pumpkin pie topping. One year she didn't make it because she thought we didn't like it :confused3 so we make sure to request it every year now. If you can find something like this, I guarantee the guests will be happy.

I make a Turkey Cake every year for Thanksgiving

Cheesecake sampler from Sam's Club. Non-traditional, but OH SOOOO good!

Pie pie pie...I love my mothers pumpkin pie....yum!

I also have a recipe for a pumpkin cake that is super moist and yummy. If I can find I will post it for the non traditional pumpkin dessert lovers.

That reminds me I have a pumpkin roll in the freezer at church to pick up....oh boy! Dessert tomorrow night. Woo hoo!

I always look forward to pies at Thanksgiving. Pumpkin, apple, or chocolate pudding pies. We don't really have pies too often during the year so that's what I like at Thanksgiving.

Cake would such a nice change of pace. We always end up with several desserts, but rarely is it a cake.

I'm thinking pumpkin cake with a cream cheese frosting.

Since my son was born almost 7 years ago (2 weeks from today) we always have birthday cake at Thanksgiving. We always have pie but have cut down on the amount. My dh's grandparents and their sons like raisin pie, we usually have pumpkin pie and chocolate pie too. And sometimes peanut butter.

PIE all the way! We usually have pumpkin, cherry, apple and coconut--everybody likies something different. My kids love having their own pies--we have it in the mornings and call it "fruit for breakfast" :goodvibes
