What derails your SBing?

I would have to agree that life gets in the way.
I have kids coming and going all day long.
We are hosting a foreign exchange student this year so that adds more to my plate. He leaves at 645am, my oldest at 745am, and my youngest at 1145am. They start coming home at 315, 355 and 405. Then inbetween I have errands, housework, laundry, whatever else and plus I am part time in college myself.

AHHHHH, I need vacation. I need a weekend where I can do nothing but scrap if I want.

Jiminey Crickets ya'll are SO busy!! Why do we do this to ourselves? What keeps me from scrapping? Well, let's see....1st I am a home based travel agent so I'm always trying to figure out ways to get more business. Since I don't have a store front agency, I have to fight for every bit of business I get. I LOVE selling travel but I hate the paperwork; that's probably true about the majority of us in our jobs don't you think? In addition DH & I have a 50 acre farm w/30 head of cattle and 40 goats; SOMETHING ALWAYS needs done on a farm. PLUS we have rental property and my MIL has rental property so every time we turn around DH has to do something to help her out since she has no one else to do so. So while he's off doing whatever for her, I have to pick up the slack around here...which leads me to probably my biggest challenge and most time consuming issue. MY CHILDREN. We have 3 girls ages 14, 9 and 6. My 14 yr old plays soccer for her high school team. As one poster said we have either practice or a game EVERY NIGHT. Right now they are undefeated in our district. I'm SO proud of them all. Then my 9 yr old plays rec soccer w/practice on Mon and Thurs nts 5:30 - 6:30, games are on Sat mornings. My 6 yr old is now cheering for our Little League (or is it called Pee Wee in football?) team...boys ages 9-10. Her practice is also on Monday and Thursday night also at 5:30 - 6:30. If DH is working on something around here or running #1 to or from a game or pactice, one of my good friends helps me w/DD9. Our daughters play soccer on the same team and we live just a mile or two from each other so it's great. Thank GOD for her!!! Nicole's (DD6) games are on Sat afternoons at 2. Wed night and Sunday morning is church. AND I'm on the PTO for 2 youngest daughters elementary school.

One poster (sorry don't remember who) mentioned that she wished she could take her scrapping to practice while she waited on her child. You know what I do when I'm waiting? I take my scrap mags and go through them and sketch out L/Os that I want to scraplift!! Sometimes I'll also take a group of pictures I'm in the middle of (cruise pictures right now) and will crop them and get ideas of how I want to creat a L/O, what colors to use etc.
However, sometimes I do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but sit in the car w/the windows down and just close my eyes and relax. AHHHHH.......what a nice break!!

I will be chugging along and then something will need to be done. and then it seems like something else needs to be done and before I know it, a week has gone by. So, I guess I would just have to say LIFE gets in my way! LOL But without those distractions I wouldn't have anything to scrap.

August was extremely hectic for me. School started on the 10th, my daughter's birthday party was the 13th, then her actual birthday was the 20th, then she started preschool, then Hurricane Katrina hit..... even though I got some pages done during that time! LOL

What derails my scrapbooking???? Hmmmm, everything! It seems that I try and sit down to spend some "me" time and scrap, but someone always needs something. Hopefully with all 3 boys in school full time, I can spend a couple of hours a week.
