I am planning on go to DL Wed, March 1 - Fri, March 3 and will have a 5 day park hopper. I am assuming (we shall see) that fireworks and Fantasmic are only on the weekends during the off season. If this is the case and based on crowds would you do Saturday/Monday, Saturday/Sunday, Sunday/Monday? Monday gets into beginning Spring Break seasons. If fireworks and Fantasmic are only weekends I need Friday night plus one more weekend night.

Blackout dates for Saturday include Southern California and Southern California Select.

Blackout for Sunday include Southern California Select.

Thoughts from those who are familiar or even those who have visited close to spring break? Thanks in advance for any advice.

We don't quite know when Spring Break Season schedule will start at DLR in 2016. The Spring Break AP blockouts don't start until March 19, 2016. DLR has typically transitioned to the Spring Break Season schedule a few weeks ahead of Easter, but I don't quite know when that will happen yet.

F! (and other nighttime entertainment) is usually presented on Fri, Sat, and Sun evenings during the non-peak season, so any combination of Fr, Sat, or Sun would give you a chance to see those shows. Given that fireworks can be cancelled due to weather, I would probably opt to have Sat/Sun as my other two days (the most chances to see it in case it gets cancelled). I terms of crowds, I think Monday is likely to be the slowest days. While some school districts may get early March off for Spring Break, a good number seem to have their breaks in mid-March through mid-April (see the 2016 Calendar of Events and School Breaks thread).

So does this mean my info is incorrect? I got it off isitpacked.com?

I'm thinking maybe I should fly in Monday night and do Tues-Fri at the parks and wait til Monday to do my other day. I'm pretty flexible. ?

F! goes on a 12 to 18 month hiatus starting in January, so it won't be playing next March. Most likely the only evening entertainment you need to worry about is fireworks, and as Figment says, they will be shown at least on Fri/Sat/Sun, even if they're not on Spring Break schedule yet.

In general your information is correct, but for certain times of the year, the AP blockouts span multiple consecutive days. During the peak Spring Break period some of the APs are blocked out for approximately two weeks:
  • SoCal (March 19 through April 2, inclusive)
  • SoCal Select (March 18 through April 3, inclusive)

This is generally when DLR expects the peak of the Spring Break crowds to visit the parks.

Do you think it's worth it to watch fireworks one night on Main St and another near IASM?
If you wanted to see the show from two different perspectives then, yes, I think it could be fun to watch it from Main Street one night and then from IaSW on a different night. Alternatively, I would consider watching it once from the Hub area (so you get a good view of the castle and Matterhorn) and another time from further down Main Street (so you're immersed in the projections and effects on Main Street). I recently watched the show from the Hub (I normally watch from Main Street) and felt that it was a different show/experience from closer to the castle (I still think I like Main Street better, but the Hub is a good choice as well).
