what day of the week?

What day of the week have you found best to begin your vaca on and what day do you return (i.e. wed-wed or sat-fri) We have been doing Sat-Sat for a while but seeing as I have found airfare is cheaper for us this trip if I get more creative with the days we leave/return... I am thinking about trying a new plan.

If you are flying out of Logan, then we have found much cheaper airfare on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I'm not sure why, but it seems to most always work that way unless there is a vacation or a holiday.

We are from MA too and we usually start on Monday or Tuesday and end on Tuesday or Wednesdays. Tue and Wed seems to be the cheapest days to fly!

I love Monday to Monday. It gives you all weekend to pack & get anything you need to do done before you leave while DH is home. Also, having a full weekend at the end of the trip somehow just makes the trip seem longer. Finally, coming back & only having 4 days of work or school makes the trip seem longer as well. We are also from the Boston area & we fly either late in the day out of Logan or really anytime on Southwest out of Providence.

I have heard Tuesday to Tuesday being best for most of the larger air ports with daily flights.

You are absolutely right. You can save upwards of $150 per ticket by flying Monday through Wednesday.
