DH & I are both working Chrsitmas day. He's working a 12 hour night shift & I'm working a 12 hour day shift so we won't even see each other. The children will be at Grandma's. We are going to celebrate on the Friday before Christmas. We'll have Christmas eve on Thursday night & will spend Friday as if it were realy Christmas day. Anyone else celebrating on a different day?

My mom is having my and my brother's and sister's families over on Sunday the 18th, and I am not really sure why. :confused3 She has never done that before.

I celebrate with my immediate family on Christmas Eve, just tradition in my family. That is when we open family gifts and have our big meal. When I was a kid Santa came on Christmas Eve too, but he comes for my son Christmas morning. I just can't pull off sneaking out the presents when he is not asleep. :rotfl:

My DH works a job where he has every other Xmas off - so this year he will be home and we will celebrate on Christmas however last year we had Christmas late - we celebrated Christmas on New Years Eve. Enjoy your holiday no matter which day you celebrate!

In my household we'll celebrate on Christmas. With my parents, siblings, neices/nephews we're celebrating this Saturday (17th). It is so we can spend some quality time w/ each other before the mayhem of the following weekend begins. We'll do our big Christmas dinner and gifts all this weekend.

Christmas Day for us

On the 30th, when we get back from our cruise.

I am sort of celebrating Christmas with my best friend in Scotland on Christmas Day (as much as we can while separated from our families.) But my mom is throwing a Christmas party on Jan. 8! (I arrive back in CA on Jan. 7 late at night) So I will be celebrating Christmas with my family then. :)

Good for you, for making lemonade out of lemons. My mother was a nurse and we also had to accomodate her schedule. We kids just learned it was a part of life. As a result we are all very flexible about holidays and such. This year i'm working Christmas eve & Christmas day. I don't mind. I know that my patients will be grateful and my kids understand. People dont stop getting sick just because it's Christmas

Christmas for us is this Sunday, the 18th (although dd is lobbying for Saturday but I don't think I can possibly do it by then.) She spends the school break with her dad in New Mexico. I recreate the entire holiday but early.

My ex was a cop who often worked Christmas, too, so it's no big deal to either dd and I to rearrange the actual day we celebrate. We've been doing it forever anyway!

With DH's family: Saturday, Dec 17
With my Dad's extended family: Friday, Dec 23
With my Dad alone: Christmas Eve
With my Mom & Step Dad: Christmas morning
With Mom's extended family: Christmas dinner at DSis house

ETA: DH will miss Christmas dinner because he works for the Baltimore Ravens and they have the 8PM game on Christmas night. (I really hate his job by this point in the season.) But, I suppose it could be worse...he could have to work a 1PM or 4PM game and be gone all day. At least with the 8PM game, he gets to stay home until (about) 4PM.

We will probably open presents Christmas Eve and then have some sort of brunch on Christmas day.......we are leaving that evening, Christmas Day, to drive to Florida....

On Christmas day, we have a 7:10AM flight to WDW, so our Christmas will be Christmas Eve.

We are celebrating Christmas many times this year. We are traveling to Missouri from Texas this year.

This Friday we are having a "Puppy Christmas". The dogs have to go to a kennel for Christmas so we are going to celebrate with them and take pictures before we leave.

Christmas Eve will be with my family.

Monday day after Christmas will be with DH's family.

We're celebrating Christmas with my brothers and their families on the 22nd. Having a big dinner and opening gifts with my MIL on Christmas Eve. Christmas dinner and gifts with our 2 boys and my dad on Christmas day at our house.

I get off of work at 8 a.m. Christmas Morning, so we actually will clebrate on Christmas Day.

But the kids are going to have to wait until I get home (HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!)

I told them I am going to call AND WAKE EVERYONE UP at 6 a.m., just so they can be tortured looking at the tree & presents for a couple of hours.

I am such a mean dad.

But it's sooooooooo much fun!!

But I just hope This Chrsitmas Eve is better thsn the last one I worked. Had a guy die on me at 5 a.m. Christmas Morning. Bummer.
