this may be a silly question, or more like the answer may be silly.

but...

i'm wondering what date every year Disney starts implementing newly inflated prices for things such as admission media and resort rates?

(yeah i'm guessing Jan 1st, but want to make sure :p )

Silly answer.---Septober = September + October

My experience is October sees the tickets/rooms go up by 4-5%. However, with the economy as is, this year maybe an exception to the rule, with no increase.

:o ;) :bounce: :bounce: :p :bounce: :jester:

oh, does this have to do with Disney's corporate calendar? i heard that Oct 1st is the beginning of their "year".

It's possible that Disney starts its fiscal year in October, but it is unusual for companies to start a fiscal year in the 4th quarter. The vast majority of companies actually use fiscal year July (beginning of 3rd quarter) calendars. Some start their calendars in January (1st Q). I used to work in advertising and entertainment and my companies, or clients generally started fiscal years in July.

I thought that the admission price to the parks went up in January this year?

actually i remember seeing something on Deb's WDWIG page about a January 2001 price increase...

i've heard mention that last year there were price increases in October 2000 and also another one this January 2001! argh!

does anyone remember when Disney announced the price increases? or do they keep it really quiet, and we'll have to rely on obsessively checking on DIS boards to see if it leaked out :p
