What daily task do you consider to be a waste of time

I agree about making the bed! That is one of those chores I never make my kids do.

Sorry guys, I have to make the beds but I HATE to put chothes away. I will stack them up for days before I make myself do it. With five people in the house, we have a lot of laundry.

Gotta make the bed (eventually)...just makes the room look so pretty.

The useless chore I gave up years ago was folding towels and washcloths. Well, I still fold hand towels. I used to be a really neurotic towel folder (now I'm just a really neurotic clothes folder)...my linen closet looked like the towel department of a department store, with everything all lined up and stacked neatly. I put washcloths in a bin in the closet now, unfolded. And I have a big basket on the floor with bath towels, unfolded. And I think that as of today, I'm getting another basket for the closet for hand towels.

Well... I do make my bed every day. It makes me feel better to walk in at the end of the day with a neatly made bed.

But I gave up folding underwear for the rest of my family a long time ago. I still fold my own, because I like my drawers neat, but they just rifle through their drawers to find things and make a mess, so WHY BOTHER!!??............P

Making the bed just makes the rest of the house neater to me too. Plus, if you buy pretty bedding, you want to see it all nice looking.

However, I heard on TV yesterday that not making a bed keeps bedbugs and dust mites away or some such thing. Hmm...

Mare, I don't fold towels either. I hang them on pegs. I hate folding towels. I have a lot of hair towels to fold (yuck!)

FOLDING SOCKS! I hate it...it is without a doubt so boring and takes so long with 5 in the house and soccer and basketball socks and work out socks! I HATE SOCKS!

I do make al the beds everyday but the kids do their own on the weekend. I love made up beds...I think it makes the house feel cleaner for some reason...they could be covered with unfolded socks...but they will be made!

I like doing socks. I do those first because I can deal with it...perfection not required! What I hate is when I end up with so many mismatched ones at the end.

It is very easy is you just use a comforter.

Any task that makes the house look better, the family clean and the like is not a waste of time.

If you want to know what tasks I hate to do then I would say cleaning the toilet. I prefer it when my butt is closer to it than my face.

I hate picking up bits of garbage. You know how a static-ky piece of wrapper will sometimes fall out ofyour hand or stick to the counter, like a granola bar wrapper? Yeah. That. Or when people leave the wrapper entirely! I also hate when people miss the garbage can (bathroom, really) and leave Kleenex right next to it!

I'd have to say making the bed for me too. No one goes in there except us, we're just gonna get back into at the end of the day, and the cat likes to get under the covers and sleep during the day too. I just don't see the point in making it at all.

I make the bed because *I* like how it looks; for me, it doesn't matter if anyone else is going to see it.
