I'm sure there are dozens or even hundreds of us anxiously awaiting tomorrow! What cruise are you waiting for?

DH and I have our travel agent ready to book the 7 night Eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy - 9/9/17. Category 7A - room requests (in order of preference) 9664, 8176, 7680, 6678.

Good luck everyone!

I want to book the 11 night Southern Caribbean but I don't think such a large fare is in the cards for our family. Boo :(

Good luck with your selection!

The 5 night Alaskan on August 2nd or the 7 night on August 21st. Not picky about room, we'll take an Inside if we 'have' to. :thumbsup2

Did you book? I checked out a few things, but we are going to pass and maybe wait for a GT- I can't pay more for the 5 night than I paid for my 7 on Fantasy ;)

Have you stayed in 9664 before? We are staying in that room on our Western Fantasy cruise. I had originally booked deck 10, but switched to 9 after reading so many complaints about the overhang.

We have stayed in 9664 in the Fantasy - great room! Fairly minimal obstruction that I actually liked because it gave a bit of privacy and a wind break. The cleaning cage does hang above the balcony, so looking out upwards is somewhat blocked, but not a big deal. There is one picture in my trip report here.

Any

I did book the 5 night Alaskan cruise! I haven't received my confirmation email yet but the reservation is already on my account when I log in so I figure the website is just overwhelmed and backed up. If it's showing up in my ressies, it's all good :flower1:

Now, the price I'm not thrilled with but to be honest, it's the price I kind of figured they'd be. We are doing a standard inside cabin. I know it's only 5 vs 7 nights so it's basically a sampler cruise but the 7 night prices I just couldn't swallow. And it's still 100% completely refundable for a year so......yeah, I jumped on it :smooth:

Thanks!!!! Great report!

Oops I made a mistake though- we are in 9558. I had to log in and look. I haven't seen anyone post about that room.. Hopefully I made the correct decision in switching.

Good for you! I looked at that one, but for the 3 of us (not even counting baby!) it was $3895 US, and when I did the conversion in my banking if I was going to move that much to my US account, it was $3895 US so almost $5300 CAD...>:( Never in a million years will DH be on board with that- he's not very interested in Alaska like me, and over 5K for 5 nights won't float ;) Cheapest Alaskan 7 day comes to $4411 so comes out to $5830 CAD- dang. Our Fantasy was $3580 US for a VGT, and DH thought that was pricey.

I also looked at the 5 N Baja, but once again, but DH doesn't want to do anything less than 7 days- so that's pretty much out. Cheapest is $2900 US.

Now these prices are off the website- not sure if they would be cheaper if I called in.

Oh well!

I haven't stayed there but read a lot of good reviews on it over on the stateroom reports at WDW Info! Everyone raved about it. The close proximity to Cabanas is a huge plus for us =). We've only ever had an inside room so any verandah will be an exciting upgrade for us.

I mad a mistake! Logged in and checked- we are in 9558..not 9664. What about that room?

The prices we see on the website are the same prices we would be given if we called in, so don't feel like you're missing out if you don't want to call in!

I'm trying not to think about the conversion at the moment :crazy2: The good news is that our $ does seem to be rallying and it appears to be on the way up (of course I'm not naive, I know it could just as well take another tumble lol) At the moment I have only paid the deposit and don't plan on putting any more money to this cruise for quite a while. We still have $1,000 USD to pay off on our January 2017 cruise, first!

I think this was the only way we were going to do Alaska on Disney, I just can't stomach those 7 night prices (I can just about stomach the 5 night price!) I am also 100% certain that this will not be our last cruise to Alaska, but I am also nearly 100% certain future cruises to Alaska will be on Royal, NCL or Carnival. This could very well be our 3rd and last Disney cruise ever (forget other destinations too) so I'm snorting up that pixie dust while I can pixiedust:

Guess I'm going to need a third ticker! Is that even possible?! lol

We booked the Dream double dip for June 11. Always wanted to do a double dip, and we plan to go to the parks for a week first, then relax on the cruise. Should be fun!

I'm starting to think I'm not going to get DH to Alaska anytime soon- unless maybe it's a cheapy last minute on a non-DCL cruise...he'd much rather go somewhere hot...he also really wants to get back to Hawaii. Weren't you going to Hawaii?

we are def leaning towards a spring cruise, as we really want to do a vacation before I go back to work after Mat leave, and hopefully the budget will replenish after buying the car last week. My forecasting shows it will so we will be able to, so will see how things go. Will have to see whats feasible with a baby!

I looove the idea of a double dip! We would definitely be interested in that if they ever offered it in the off-season when we normally travel.

When you don't pen yourself in to DCL the cruise world is your oyster :rotfl: hopefully you'll be able to snag a really great last minute deal!

To tell the truth I'm not sure how I got DH to to agree to it either :rotfl2: At least we have no airfare to contend with this cruise!

Yes, we're going to Maui for a week at the end of May.
