I just booked a painter to come do my hall/landing and stairs...Iam totally stuck on paint colours.:confused3...i know I want a beige/tan sort of color..but every time I try a tester, its either too dark or too light.

Does anyone have any photos of their rooms in this type of colour...I know I want dark brown accessories and picture frames..but Iam unsure what shade to go for.
Help!:)

My foyer and hallway are painted a Benjamin Moore colour called Sombrero. It is a straw colour but with definite yellowy green undertones. It changes with the light, in the morning it is greeny but in the evening it becomes more buttery/straw looking and is neither too dark nor too light. I have a picture hanging in the hallway with a dark brown frame and it goes quite nicely.

Sorry I don't have any pictures.

Thanks ...that sounds nice...especially looking like a different color at differnt times of day.:)

I don't have any pics but my family room is a Benjamin Moore color called Shabby Chic. It's like a tea with milk color. I have a chocolate leather couch and some black frames and stuff. It looks nice:)

I have a nice color in my finished basement called Birch Beige from Sears. It's a nice taupe color like you see in model homes. I'll try to post a picture. I'm going to repaint my hallway & LR that color as well but I'll take the chip to Duron or Benjamin Moore & get their paint. Sears paint is not very good.

My old house was a Benjamin Moore color called Bar Harbor Beige. It looked really good with chocolate brown accents.

My current house is Benjamin Moore Fair Way Oaks...it might be too goldish for what you are looking for.

I'll look for photos.

Our upstairs hall is Benjamin Moore - Springfield Tan

I found a picture on line,

Thanks..looks really nice. My problem is though..i have no ceiling to paint white!....Its hard to describe..I live in a dormer bungalow..so as you enter the house the hallway walls go right to the top of the converted loft space and sort of curve around...So every color I try I worry will be too dark.

I love those shades though.
