I used white for the design like that....but only because I had to use light transfers. I agree with Amy, too...it would look very cool on a Red Shirt with dark transfers! Good luck!!
Newbie here with a question. I am trying to learn how to make shirts with the iron on transfers. I plan on putting them on white shirts. what is the light transfer? sounds like something i need to know! Also............is there a certain blend (50/50) of cotton that i need to have for the transfer to work. Thanks

When you go to buy your transfer paper, you will see that there are two types--one for dark shirts and one for light shirts. Check out the TIPS sticky, I think it explains the difference. Plus I have asked for clarification on this issue a couple of times, so you could look for those threads too.
The light transfers are much less expensive than the darks in all the places I have seen them.
