My dh informed me that he'd like to get our office/computer room painted this week. It's an upstairs room, the first room in front of you when you get to the top of the stairs. You can see into through the double glass french doors, so it can't be anything too bright. I thought maybe sage green (Martha Stewart has one called Everyday Green I like) but my dh thought it might be too boring. Any suggestions, or know of a nice but pleasant sage green color?? I'm at a loss and he's hounding me!! :confused3

I know a really nice color that is sort of sage green--I'm in the process of painting our computer room this color! It is called "dry earth" and it is available at Lowes. I am so sorry but I can't remember the brand name of the paint (haven't actually bought it yet and can't locate the sample)!! If you look at all the sections that contain similar colors you'll be sure to find it. I do remember that it was on a sample card with other colors, not one big card by itself. Good luck with your decision!

We want to paint our study. It's on our main level, just off our foyer and visible from our front door. I'm also thinking of a sage type color. The rest of that level is done in taupe/sage/maroon/dijon type colors--the foyer in light taupe. I think the sage would go well with the foyer. Now if I could just get my boys to clean the room up on a regular basis and quit leaving their backpacks, papers, i-Pods, etc, etc scattered all over that room we'll be in good shape.

Thanks! I'll look for it next time I'm at Lowes!

We use our livingroom as our office. It's the first room to the left you see when you walk in. We're going to have it painted soon & we're also discussing colors. It's currently a taupe color & we love it but if we have it painted, we just wanted to do a new color.....well, our next fave would be a sage green color but I've looked at so many color samples & none seem to be the right color I'm looking for. So we might just go with taupe again to be on the safe side & we'll add crown moulding this time around & have that painted a bright white in semi-gloss. We just did that to our 4 y/o's room. We picked out a sand color & had crown moulding added & had that painted in Clean White (forgot ~ maybe Waverly?) in a semi-glass. The really bright white really pops in that room now! DS loves it!

My official home office is "pony tail" and "belgium waffle" - tan and a pale yellow. I also have a computer in our guest room for guests and DD, and that room is a pale green. My personal laptop travels the house with me, and right now it is in the family room which is Crocodile Tear and Terraza Tan - a sage green type color and terra cotta-ish color.

I too looked at about 1 million "sage" green type colors until I came upon Crocodile Tears - it was from Lowes, I just had the house painted in March 2005. I think it is American Tradition. I the painters remarked what a great combination that accented the architectural details of the rooms (can't see it in this pic) and several neighborhood moms who don't compliment unless they mean it...... remarked what a great color it is! PS the window "treatments are temporary - still have no clue what I want to do with them window and slider which goes to the pool, so it has to be something functional.

I found the sample card--Dry Earth is an American Tradition paint; sample card is # 6008-4. I do love the Crocodile Tear color that Makinorlando posted, too!

I painted my living room the Every Day Green from Martha Stewart, I really liked it. It looked a little closer to Olive than I expected.

Now we have our basement/computer room a coffee with cream color with white trim.

Good luck! We are working on Laminate counter resurfacing in the kitchen and tile backsplash. Amazingly we are agreeing well! This is a first for us.

Ours is very boring white, as is the rest of our place.

I'd like to paint it, maybe a nice soothing light blue, with white puffy clouds...somehow, though, I think DH would object!

I love sage!

DH is decorating our office - he is designing it around his cigar obesssion =) It'll be painted a cognac color (something along the lines of a pumpkin/orange/beige color) and I think we're going to install dark wood paneling on the bottom half to make it more, um, cigar bary? LOL. With chocolate brown drapes and roman shades, probably.

It's very much a work in progress - aka, there is no paint on the walls yet.

Good luck!

How funny!!

My computer room is at the top of the stairs. It has double glass french doors, and I've painted the walls a deep sage green. One wall is custom builtin maple shelving, and includes my computer desk at one end and a tv nook in the middle, all stained a darkish shade. We have distressed leather and tapestry covered furnishings in the room. It's a restful and comfortable space, and I love the sage color we chose.

The wall color is Behr "Dusty Laurel", from Home Depot.

Our kitchen is Clary Sage by Sherwin Williams. Our computer room is a pretty light, golden yellow color.

Seems like green is "in" right now in the design world!! I want to put French doors on my office - it has double doors that you enter from the front hallway, and a single door on the side hallway. I'd have to make sure I kept it neat though!!

Our family/computer room is a very bright yellow.
Its so cheerful.

pepto bismol pink with princess stick on's on the wall

It's also my DD's play room!! Something tells me your DH wouldn't approve ;)

Benjamin Moore Baked Terra Cotta, if you go to the Personal Color Viewer on the benjaminmoore.com and choose let's paint our room is basically Den 2 under Dining Rooms, Dens and Halls. Ok it's not Sage green.

Our master bedroom is a sagey color from Lowes. It's an American Traditions Home color.

Mine is red. Not bright red...I think the last color I used was barn red by Ralph Lauren. This is the second home office I have done this color and I love it. I have received sooo many compliments on the color. I think this office the color is called cayenne red or chili pepper red and I think it is by Monarch (a paint store in itself)

Ours is the same colors it was when we moved in a year ago. We haven't painted it yet. We painted our living room sage green, though, and we love the color. It's Behr's Mother Nature. You can see it on the wall in this photo:
