In May, we're planning on painting our house. Right now its a medium blue color, with darker blue shutters and front door. Initially I was going to only paint the shutters black, and paint the front door a deep raspberry color, leaving the house blue. But then friends of ours offered to come over for a painting party, and I'm finding their offer hard to refuse!!

So now I can choose ANY color scheme for my house, and I really don't know which colors to choose.

We live next door to a log cabin house on one side, a very LIGHT gray house with pink door, on the other side of us. Directly across the street is a white house with black shutters and a red door.

So far I'm considering:

medium gray house, black shutters, deep raspberry door and window boxes.

OR

tan house... and NO IDEA for the colors for shutters and door!!

OR

a light blue house, black shutters, and the raspberry door and flower boxes.

I am really open to ANYTHING at this point. I need ideas! :D Pictures of your houses would help too!

One more thing: My house is a ranch, with a cute wooden shed in the backyard that is visible from the street, so we'd paint the shed to match the house. It matches now, except the door isn't a darker blue like the front door on the house is.

My house has some siding on it and the stone. It's a creamy-yellow color and nothing looks good with it.

:) Pick anything but that. lol

I really like our house color. It's Mistletoe from Sherwin Williams.
You would think a kelly green. But it is a pale green.

Ours is sky blue, with royal blue trim, and tan (I think the actual paint color is wheat) garage door, front door.

We bought this house in '97.... it's a vomity greenish-yellowish color. Don't pick that one! LOL If it wasn't siding, we would have changed it.

Ours is medium gray siding with a dark red trim. We went with the red for two reasons. One it's my favorite color and two we have a red roof.

Ours is a taupe/sand color with a black roof and shutters. The doors (front and garage) are cornflower blue.

White house with burgandy shutters.
We found this house while it was being built, but the outside was already done, so we didnt have any say in the color. Im happy with it though.

Here's my house, its the yellow one in the middle:

If I had to do it over again, I'd go with the color of my neighbor to the right's house. :)

My house is a dark blue with gray trim & a raspberry color door:D

Snoopy- I LOVE your house!!!!!!!!!

SS, the new popular color schemes for houses around here are:

taupe with burgundy or maroon trim (sharp)

forest green with taupe trim

pale yellow with light blue trim

good luck

herc.

Ours grayish--the name of the paint is Squirrel--and that's exactly what color it is:p

In the front we have a brown brick but on the back and sides it is a mocha colored siding. I really like it. :)

Our home is a Disney castle blue trim with white/grey brick - our kids have pointed out that we even have our home in Disney Castle colors - LOL - we never noticed it before they pointed that out!

Wow, thanks everyone! Lots of good ideas! Snoopy, I love your house! :)

hercamore: When you mentioned "pale yellow with light blue trim" I IMMEDIATELY thought of the "Jamaica" section of Caribbean Beach Resort, which as most people know, is my favorite WDW resort!! :teeth: I am going to seriously consider this color combo. Also, I LOVE the color blue.

Keep the ideas coming!! :)

Ours is called "Federal Blue"--a med-dark slate blue with light gray trim, white garage door & entry doors--like the color combo alot.

Snoopy--love your house!

Ours is red brick with mocha trim and dark brown shutters. The brick has some taupe and brown tones in it as well.

Our neighbors just painted their house taupe with cream trim and black shutters. It looks fabulous! Very classy.

well, if it helps......my house is also a creamy yellow with dark French blue trim and door :)

I love yellow houses !
