What clothes to pack for September 25-29

Our family will be visiting Disneyland on September 25 to 29. I have two kids and was wondering what to pack for them in terms of clothes.

Would it still be warm in September? Should they be going into the parks with short sleeve shirts and shorts? Or should I get them to wear long pants?

Should I bring sweaters for the evenings at the park?

Also, for footwear, should I get them to wear running shoes, they do complain that their feet get hot with their socks on. But, I think these are the most comfortable shoes to be walking in.

Please let me know what you think! thanks...

I am also going at the end of September and I am thinking it will be HOT. We were there in September once and it was VERY hot. The evenings may be cool. Anaheim weather is unpredictable though - we've had rain in May and hot sun in February. Best bet is to check Accuweather.com before going just to make sure.

Sorry I can't advise on the shoe situation as I don't have little ones anymore, but maybe thinner cotton socks?

Have a great trip:)

We have gone to Disneyland in late September for the last 2 years and will be going again this year. We have found the weather to be cool in the morning (long sleeves, shorts or skirts were fine), warmer in the afternoon (pulling off the hoodies) and then cool at night for fireworks and world of color (long pants, jackets). We dress in layers.

I always put my daughter (7 years) in running shoes and socks for the parks and bring other shoes for dinner.

We stay at the Grand Californian, so we can change. I also bring a backpack to carry extra clothes. I would definitely check the forecast before you guys depart. Last year it was very pleasant when we went, but our friends went a week later and it was in the 100s.

Have fun on your trip.

Sept. is a very warm month for southern california. But like most of California--you will need jackets and long pants for evenings (fireworks, Fantasmic, World of Color). So, daytime will require a light jacket in the ealy morning, warming to a shorts/capris/light pants and tee day. As the sun goes down, there can be considerable cooling.

So light layers are a good way to cover all the bases.

As far as footwear, you will run the full range of answers here. Some people swear by flip flops, and others will only walk in running shoes. This is a very personal decision. I have a few pairs of sandals that are so comfortable (not flip flops--these are Keen strappy sandals) and work fine for Disneyland. In the cooler months (Nov-April) I wear my running shoes. My kids typically wear what they are most comfortable in. One always wears her running shoes, the other will only wear flip flops at Disneyland.

Thanks so much for your input! :thumbsup2 We are all very excited for our trip... I will definitely check the weather before going but also bring extra long pants/hoodies for those cooler evenings.

I'll be there a couple of days you are there and I am hoping that it cools down! I live about a hour south and it's been too warm for me! Hopefully our mild summer will kick back in soon! :cool1:

I was there around that time 2 years ago and it was really hot, close to 100. Another time around the same time I had to buy a jacket because it was cool.

Usually it's still quite hot in SoCal at that time of year. Cooler in the morning and evenings. We usually just stuff light sweatshirts or sweaters in our backpack and add/remove as the day goes on.

I could have written your exact post - looking for exact same answers!!
I hope we get some summer weather! We need some more sun.

I think we are on the same cruise and will be going to Disneyland after.. :cool1: Can't wait..

I agree we need some more sun, also thinking whether I should get one of those misters if the weather becomes too hot
