Hi! ok ok we went a year ago and I forget what I packed. I think I packed too many clothes last year. This year we are going for 10 nights. I went thru my summer clothes today and came up with this: (we leave in three weeks)

2 summer dresses (one long, one short)
5 pairs of shorts
3 t-shirts (I'll need to buy two more)
undies
socks
bathing suit
hat

The kids will have the same.....what else, in clothing, should I bring? S

Some sort of cover-up for the swimsuit for going back and forth to the pool, and we go through a lot more shorts and t-shirts because we usually change during our mid-day break. We will also be there 10 days and do laundry in the middle, but I am taking more like 7 (at least of the t-shirts.) Perhaps that won't be a problem for you though since it won't be as hot as June.

I just went thru the stuff I'm packing ~ I put dd (8) ds (2) and myself in one suitcase, dh uses his own suit case. dd, ds and I will have bathing suits, PJ's, undies (diapers) and socks. Here are the other things going in and actually fitting!

ME
3 dresses
8 shirts
5 shorts

ds (2)
diapers
wipes
5 shirts (not enough, I'll by buying a couple more)
7 shorts, including overall shorts
2 swimming trunks that look like shorts
1 cool weather outfit

dd(8)
1 dress (I think she'll need another dress)
10 shirts (too many, I'll need to pull a couple out)
5 shorts

I just bought the cutest travel umbrella too! S

I usually throw in a pair of capri pants for myself and my DD and a long pair of pants for DS. We also like to take two bathing suits per person. I hate putting on a wet bathing suit.

Wow, you are a light traveller! We figure 2 complete outfits per day for everyone, without washing. Inevitably, we will end up under-packing or a "major" accident will happen, like chocolate sauce all over the new white shorts, etc...

We have never worn the same clothing for the entire day!! I would bring as many changes of clothes as you can...

Don't forget hats, fanny packs, sandals, sunglasses for everyone, your mobile medic bag (complete with travel sizes of everything, for every health issue), sunblock (we like the "sport" sunblock 'cause its very long lasting), and insulated water bottles...

:D

I have always taken too many clothes. I am getting better, though.

Thanks all for your replies! Your advise is always a great addition to our trip planning!

dh and I were reading our notes from last year's trip and one note remarked that we packed way too many clothes. Last year we went thru half the clothes, so I did a wach and we ended up just where the newly washed clothes again. So I know I'll pack less this year. But I'm not sure extra what can go! I am trying to make sure ALMOST all the clothes have 2 matching coordinating pieces. dd looks great in pink, blue and white, so I packed those colours for her. I have lots of red, blue and white (and the Daisy Duke's of course LOL).

We are even packing less food than last year too.

We have a 2 year old, so we are flying with a stroller, car seat, couple of carry-ons and two suitcases. Sandra

For the kids and myself, I always pack 1 complete set of clothes per day, 2 swimsuits, 1 swim towel, 1 spare set of clothes, and two spare socks and undies - per person. In my case, I also pack the mini med kit and other sundries. I have no idea what DH packs as long as it fits in his one suitcase.

I bought rolling suitcases at Target (less than $10 clearance) this spiring (even 5 yr old DD). If it does not fit in the the case it does not go!!! The kids also get a backpack each for their toys.

We always drive so we'll probably bring the rolling cooler too, packed with snacks and drinks. Since we spend one night on the road I usually puts one set of clothes for everyone in a spare bag so we don't need to unpack everything while on the road.
