What closes when it rains at Disneyland?

Just that. What attractions close and which ones stay open? And does it matter if it is a light or heavy rain? Looks like there is a chance of rain next weekend.

From my experience last January when the entire resort closed early due to rain and flooding...I noticed that BTMRR closed often due to parts that collect rain water over the tracks. IASW closed due to boats filling with water but not immediately. Tea Cups and Storybook Land also closed. AIW rarely opened while we were there--I'm not sure if it was due to the rain or just malfunctions.

It does depend on the amount and duration of the rains. A light rain will impact fewer attractions, while heavy or sustained rain will result in more closures. Basically any attraction or shows with outdoor portions have the potential to close (either just during the rain or even for a period thereafter). It does seem like any attraction where water can pond on the track or attraction vehicle will remain closed until they can dry it out.

Dumbo. Astro Orbitors.

It is rare for it to rain that hard here in SoCal although it happens on occasion. Last winter was the wettest one we've had in a decade and we did get decent rain last year.

Also, if you are expecting rain on your trip, make sure to bring rain boots any everything else with you. They sell out quick!!!! We expected rain and I brought boots for my kids and my SIL ignorned my request for rain boots for my nephew. We couldn't find any in his size. When DD5's boots developed a crack in one of them we were lucky and got the last pair in her size at Target. We had also brought ponchos (and extras) plus plastic bags to sit on. The last trip was pretty miserable weather-wise. I am hoping for much better weather this time. Earlier today the weather predicted that we would have rain on Saturday but now it's showing that it won't rain until Sunday which is the day we fly home. I am hoping to avoid the rain this trip but hope that you all avoid it as well. Or if it does rain, that it is the perfect light rain that clears out the park a little.

Yep totally depends on amount of rain and how long. Being that it doesn't rain much and not for long usually they tend to wait it out for a while longer to see.
